  • Wonderful September Getaway!

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My little family and I had a wonderful time at Celtic Craic! It has been beautifully renovated and is a perfect location for a quick walk to the beach. The house came with everything we needed. The screened in porch was a wonderful bonus and the place is well furnished (inside and out). We will remember this trip as one of the best we've ever had!"

  • Pleasant home rental

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been renting OBX houses since 1989. This is a slightly smaller house than typical but fine as there was just 2 of us. Ceilings are high and lots of windows for light so didn't feel tight. Décor and furnishings fine. What we didn't like: 1)deck doesn't wrap around south side of house to take advantage of breezes through out the day or to provide sunny morning place for coffee. 2) vegetation has grown up in the back yard blocking view down to march grasses and dock on the sound. We prefer open view. 3) KItchen is pretty basic and stocked adequately but not great if you are someone who enjoys cooking as part of the vacation. I have rented homes with well-designed and stocked kitchens that are fun to work in so missed that. Also wished I brought some of my favorite cooking utensils and supplies as kitchen a bit of haphardard array of things. 4) Think the master bdrm mattress could use an upgrade. Still, a pleasant house with privacy that we would consider renting again."

  • Fantastic Find

"We were looking for a quick getaway over Spring Break for our family of 3 and I was really impressed by all the great reviews this property received and decided to give it a chance. After staying here, I can honestly say those great reviews are well deserved! The house is nicely tucked back from the street (you can barely see it from Google Street View) and it's well shrouded by trees. It is next door to the fire/EMS station, but we had no issues with noise or traffic from it. There is some construction currently going on across the street but, again, no issues with the crew, noise, or parking. The house itself is a nice little gem - clean and well-maintained with lots of thoughtful amenities. The owner was great to work with. He made everything so easy. Called us on the first night with some general info and recommendations for the area. We felt very much at home and really enjoyed our time at the cottage. Already looking at our calendar to see when we can go back! (Note: There is no washer/dryer or dishwasher which might be an issue for some, but it didn't detract from our visit in any way.)"

  • Great stay in Nagshead at Roller Coastal!

"We had a great, 3-night stay at Roller Coastal over New Year's. The house is beautiful! Spacious 5 bedrooms, beautiful and well-stocked kitchen, two great decks - morning sun so we could actually drink coffee on the front deck in December -, first floor room with pool table, wet bar and bath. It was a short walk to to the beach and to a couple of restaurants. Looked like a nice pool, but it was closed for the season. We were able to use the hot tub which was great! We saw two shooting stars on our first night! :) We also used the elevator - it made unpacking and packing the car very convenient. Couple of small things to know about - the house is basically on the main road which didn't bother us (we decided that the slight sound of cars sounded like the ocean), the sound carries in the house making sleeping in tough if you're a light sleeper (we just moved the coffee pot to the first floor for early risers which solved that) and very little kitchen pantry space b/c of the elevator - none of these things remotely outweighed how great the house was, but good to know. Village Realty was amazing - I would book with them again in a heartbeat! The communication was great before arrival and the keyless entry was very convenient. They even opened the hot tub for us b/c of a slight misunderstanding about it being available. (I would suggest the owner consider having it open for winter guests - it's really great!) We would definitely stay again. Thanks!"
