  • Perfect Family Vacation House

"Wonderful stay at the Dolphin Inn with my extended family, 14 of us, youngest was 10. Short walk from the house to a beautiful quiet family beach, there was some traffic on road to cross but the cars stopped to let us by. Location in Southern Shores was perfect, easy access when arriving/leaving.. close to Duck for shopping/activities like paddle-boarding, parasailing, centrally located to either head down to Nags Head or up to Corolla. The house setup was perfect for our 4 families with 4 masters and 3 bedrooms downstairs for the kids, large kitchen table to fit all of us, tv's everywhere, two fridges, pool, hot tub, volleyball etc. Owner is extremely organized with directions for everything you can think of and labels everywhere to find everything. House also has many amenities like golf membership, club membership, tennis etc. Had everything we needed! We made lots of great memories at the Dolphin Inn!"

  • Great vacation home with lots of space and a fabulous pool

"Our group included 4 adults, 2 college students and a high school student. The dining area had more than enough space and each of us could find our own place in the house to do as we pleased. The place was very clean and well-prepared when we arrived. The kitchen had everything needed and there was plenty of dishes and silverware for the 8 of us. While at the house, we saw plenty of wildlife - deer in the yard, a fox, squirrels playing every day on the top of the pool fence, and the animals my family call - ew - a snake and some chameleons (or lizards). The pool was fantastic and so was the hot tub. When we didn't go out to eat, the gas grill was great. Lots of furniture on the decks and plenty of furniture near the pool. There are 2 adult bikes and 4 or 5 kids bikes. We didn't make use of these, but there are many areas off the main roads to do some riding. Robb was VERY attentive to our questions and problems - the A/C service came and fixed a problem the same day we reported it to Robb. The walk to the beach was very easy (about 10 minutes) and the passes to park across the street from the beach entrance came in handy for pap pap. We learned the next to last day of our stay that there is a rinse station near the entrance to the Chicahauk trail parking lot. This was handy to rinse beach stuff and feet before getting into our vehicles. The place was less than 5 minutes from WalMart, Food Lion, Rite Aid, Home Depot and a Medical Center. And on Saturdays and Sundays when traffic gets bad on route 12 between Kitty Hawk and Duck, you can get to the house on the inland side via Juniper Dr and avoid the traffic. All of the neighbors we saw (most of which appeared to be full time residents) were very friendly too. We left our electric griddle in the kitchen and did not realize it for several days. I contacted Robb about it - he had the maid service confirm the griddle was still in the house and worked with our friends who are vacationing in the Outer Banks to let them in the house to get our griddle. Robb also offered to retrieve it and get it back to us later this year. Try getting that kind of service in a condo or hotel. If we come back to the Outer Banks in the future, we will definitely try to reserve this house again. Thanks Robb for the great vacation place and all of your assistance during our stay."

  • FIVE STARS!!!

"Great week in Outer Banks! Beautiful, clean well maintained home. Our family has been vacationing in the Outer Banks for over 30 years and this home, not to mention the excellent customer service from the owners, has to be one of the best we've experienced. Our family ranged in ages 13 - 74 and there was something for all to enjoy. From fishing, crabbing and kayaking right out the back door to the wonderful large pool and relaxing hot tub. Not to mention the large game room area, a perfect hang out for kids or adults. Amenities were endless and the home was equipped with anything you might need. Would definitely recommend !"

  • Wonderful Vacation House on the Outer Banks

"We (2 adults/ 4 kids) enjoyed our vacation in this comfortable house on the Outer Banks in late October. It was located on a quiet dead-end-road, surrounded by trees and only a very short walk to the beach. The spacious house is well-equipped and very well kept. We noticed many nice details - like the hand-painted murals and plenty of kitchen utensils. We liked the hot tub on the porch. It was great looking into the trees from the hot tub and to relax after a day on the beach or a day of sightseeing. We appreciate that the hot tub had been cleaned and serviced on the day of our arrival. It was "ready to use". The beach is clean and uncrowded. You can walk for hours and enjoy the quiet. We slept very well in the comfortable beds - the quality of the mattresses was remarkable. It was a great time for all of us and we would recommend this house."
