  • House was better than we hoped for

"Kenny and Patti were absolutely great hosts. The communication ahead of our trip was easy, Patti called on the first day to make sure everything was good, and they couldn't have been more responsive. As for the house is was great - it was recently updated, it was very clean, the pool in the backyard was great, and the location is extremely close to anything you would need. I would certainly stay at the house again, and probably will."

  • Great vacation home with lots of space and a fabulous pool

"Our group included 4 adults, 2 college students and a high school student. The dining area had more than enough space and each of us could find our own place in the house to do as we pleased. The place was very clean and well-prepared when we arrived. The kitchen had everything needed and there was plenty of dishes and silverware for the 8 of us. While at the house, we saw plenty of wildlife - deer in the yard, a fox, squirrels playing every day on the top of the pool fence, and the animals my family call - ew - a snake and some chameleons (or lizards). The pool was fantastic and so was the hot tub. When we didn't go out to eat, the gas grill was great. Lots of furniture on the decks and plenty of furniture near the pool. There are 2 adult bikes and 4 or 5 kids bikes. We didn't make use of these, but there are many areas off the main roads to do some riding. Robb was VERY attentive to our questions and problems - the A/C service came and fixed a problem the same day we reported it to Robb. The walk to the beach was very easy (about 10 minutes) and the passes to park across the street from the beach entrance came in handy for pap pap. We learned the next to last day of our stay that there is a rinse station near the entrance to the Chicahauk trail parking lot. This was handy to rinse beach stuff and feet before getting into our vehicles. The place was less than 5 minutes from WalMart, Food Lion, Rite Aid, Home Depot and a Medical Center. And on Saturdays and Sundays when traffic gets bad on route 12 between Kitty Hawk and Duck, you can get to the house on the inland side via Juniper Dr and avoid the traffic. All of the neighbors we saw (most of which appeared to be full time residents) were very friendly too. We left our electric griddle in the kitchen and did not realize it for several days. I contacted Robb about it - he had the maid service confirm the griddle was still in the house and worked with our friends who are vacationing in the Outer Banks to let them in the house to get our griddle. Robb also offered to retrieve it and get it back to us later this year. Try getting that kind of service in a condo or hotel. If we come back to the Outer Banks in the future, we will definitely try to reserve this house again. Thanks Robb for the great vacation place and all of your assistance during our stay."

  • Had a great weekend away.

"The house was great. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were up to par, lots of space for everyone. We had one minor issue, I contacted the owner and it was resolved immediately. Our only complaints were we didn't stay long enough, and it was to cold weather wise to use the pool. I look forward to renting this property again."
