  • Roomy and great for families

"We had an extended family vacation at this property, and it was perfect for our needs. The living area (family room, dining room, kitchen, sunroom) are in the center of the house with sets of bedrooms and bathrooms split on both ends of the house. One end even has a couple steps and a door closing the main part off from the bedroom and bath area. This worked well for us as we have small children that could be put to bed in a quiet area while the adults stayed up. The finishes are functional but not high-end, again perfect for families. The yard and location are both great. The yard backs up to the Sound. There is plenty of space and fun to be had there, including a charcoal BBQ, a fire pit, seating, a lovely pool, a hot tub, kayaks and a canoe, lobster pots, a private dock, and breathtaking views. The road is flat and in a quiet neighborhood just a 5-minute drive across the bridge from Kitty Hawk and the Outer Banks islands. So, we liked being out of the hustle and bustle but a short ride to the fun. Some days, we just stayed at the house and enjoyed the amenities. I highly recommend this house for families looking for oceanfront relaxation!"

  • Great vacation home with lots of space and a fabulous pool

"Our group included 4 adults, 2 college students and a high school student. The dining area had more than enough space and each of us could find our own place in the house to do as we pleased. The place was very clean and well-prepared when we arrived. The kitchen had everything needed and there was plenty of dishes and silverware for the 8 of us. While at the house, we saw plenty of wildlife - deer in the yard, a fox, squirrels playing every day on the top of the pool fence, and the animals my family call - ew - a snake and some chameleons (or lizards). The pool was fantastic and so was the hot tub. When we didn't go out to eat, the gas grill was great. Lots of furniture on the decks and plenty of furniture near the pool. There are 2 adult bikes and 4 or 5 kids bikes. We didn't make use of these, but there are many areas off the main roads to do some riding. Robb was VERY attentive to our questions and problems - the A/C service came and fixed a problem the same day we reported it to Robb. The walk to the beach was very easy (about 10 minutes) and the passes to park across the street from the beach entrance came in handy for pap pap. We learned the next to last day of our stay that there is a rinse station near the entrance to the Chicahauk trail parking lot. This was handy to rinse beach stuff and feet before getting into our vehicles. The place was less than 5 minutes from WalMart, Food Lion, Rite Aid, Home Depot and a Medical Center. And on Saturdays and Sundays when traffic gets bad on route 12 between Kitty Hawk and Duck, you can get to the house on the inland side via Juniper Dr and avoid the traffic. All of the neighbors we saw (most of which appeared to be full time residents) were very friendly too. We left our electric griddle in the kitchen and did not realize it for several days. I contacted Robb about it - he had the maid service confirm the griddle was still in the house and worked with our friends who are vacationing in the Outer Banks to let them in the house to get our griddle. Robb also offered to retrieve it and get it back to us later this year. Try getting that kind of service in a condo or hotel. If we come back to the Outer Banks in the future, we will definitely try to reserve this house again. Thanks Robb for the great vacation place and all of your assistance during our stay."

  • Hidden Gem!!!

"This home has everything you need. It is beautifully decorated and is very open and inviting. There is plenty of space and lots to enjoy. The pool and hot tub are great, fishing on the dock is a lot of fun, and just hanging out relaxing and enjoying all of the amenities this home has to offer is wonderful. If you feel the need to venture out, the location is perfect, it's close to everything. Can't say enough and can't wait to return. This is a rare find!"
