  • Nirvana it is!

"We shared this beach house with another family and stayed there for a week(4 kids and 4 adults). It was in a great location and kids loved everything about the house. House was kept very clean and well maintained. Huge swimming pool, a clean hot tub, outside showers, bluetooth speaker system near the swimming pool were the highlights of this house. Although it was half a mile away from the beach, it wasn't a big deal. We preferred to stay back most of the times. Lot of shops and restaurants close by and adventure sports within 5 mile distance. Robb provided all the instructions necessary for the stay and he was very helpful to answer questions that we had during the stay. I would have given 5 stars if it was not for the mattresses that were squeaky, which Robb is trying to replace."

  • Circle R

"We just returned from our week at the Circle R in Southern Shores. We are a family of four with two young children and we chose the Circle R for it's amenities, location, and price. We were not disappointed at all. The house is an older home, but has been maintained well and was very clean. The posted photos are a true representation of the property and the home owner is as easy to work with as anyone I've ever rented from in the past. We had a last minute change/need and it went through without any issue at all. The kids enjoyed the well maintained pool in the back yard and I enjoyed the privacy the lot offers from the few surrounding homes. This home isn't anything fancy, but it's well worth the cost and you get exactly what you are advertised when trying to make a decision. We choose to drive out to the beaches north of Corolla, but beach access is only a few blocks away. The Friday/Friday turnaround may seem odd, but you will understand exactly why this is offered for the Circle R come Saturday morning. Another benefit is the second refrigerator in the pool house, giving you plenty of room to store all the food, drinks, and ice you need for your stay. We frequently seen deer in and around the yard, my wife even walked to within five feet of one. I would have no problem recommending the Circle R to family or friends."

  • Hidden Gem!!!

"This home has everything you need. It is beautifully decorated and is very open and inviting. There is plenty of space and lots to enjoy. The pool and hot tub are great, fishing on the dock is a lot of fun, and just hanging out relaxing and enjoying all of the amenities this home has to offer is wonderful. If you feel the need to venture out, the location is perfect, it's close to everything. Can't say enough and can't wait to return. This is a rare find!"

  • Minus the minor hiccups, marvelous location, relaxing stay

"First off, my specific ratings for this rental: 2 stars for the condition of the actual house 5 stars for the location 3.5 stars overall, for the price paid The location of this vacation home cannot be beat! My family had a wonderful, relaxing vacation and the rest of what I write below is meant to inform future renters, as it has yet to be adequately documented. The following is a list of minor maintenance/upkeep issues we encountered with this home: - A good number of the towels are threadbare - Much of the nonstick cookware is scratched - i.e. the coating is flaking off, presenting a health hazard - The wooden step from the master closest to the pool had a bad board, causing it to bend when stepped on - House needed a thorough cleaning (numerous cobwebs (some w/eggs) in most corners, furry ceiling fans, dust on headboards, window sills, etc.) - Many of the sheets on the beds had small stains - Numerous drainage/water pressure issues that should be checked out by a plumber (i.e. most of the week, the tub took hours to drain after a 10 minute shower. After my husband cleared the drain, the problem was fixed Also, it was a good day if anyone could get a toilet to flush successfully on the first try) - No hammock was available, contrary to the pictures - both the A/C and WiFi went out for a day (owner was very responsive on these issues) Upon arrival, we learned that the gym/club membership at had not been renewed, due to the house being up for sale. This required my brother-in-law to purchase a week-long membership (he is in law enforcement, which requires him to maintain a fitness regimen) Because it was an amenity that was initially listed with house, I felt slightly short-changed and hence the vacation got off to a less-than-ideal start. I don't think that this was done intentionally, but something in addition to the emailed apology should have been offered. Our deposit was returned 19 days after our departure. The delay, I suspect was due to the owner questioning an issue that was discovered on the Wednesday after we had left. IMHO, all issues should be identified within the 5-hour cleaning window and by incoming renters' arrival inspection. This caused a bit of post-vacation stress. On a big positive note, the location on the sound, the pool, and the private surroundings made for the perfect vacation spot for my family. Bottom line, I'd probably rent this property again, if given the opportunity."
