  • Fantastic vacation!

"This was our first time to the Outer Banks and we cannot adequately express how happy we were with Tina Tuna and our vacation in Nags Head. We were thrilled to find a place on the ocean that allowed us to bring our dogs. David and Anne are wonderful people and were such a pleasure to work with and get to know. Luckily we have a tight-knit family because Tina Tuna is cozy and there are 5 of us. But it is also clean and well kept, and had everything we needed. The central air was a life saver as it was in the mid 90's the entire week we were there. The location was ideal for our three kids (two teens and a pre-teen) to easily access the beach whenever they wanted. All we had to do was walk out the door and over the sand dune and we were on the beach. My husband and I were able to go out each morning to have our coffee and enjoy the sunrise, and then take the dogs on the beach for a walk, swim, or to chase the crabs (which was a favorite activity)! If we have one complaint, it's that there is only one outdoor shower that everyone fought over! "I call the outdoor shower first!" :) Having brought our 4 dogs, it was also convenient being next to the public access beach parking lot since it had a nice grassy area where we could take the dogs to do their business. There's even a public poop bag dispenser on the way to the grass if you forget to bring one. There is a sand dune between the cottages and the parking area so you still have your privacy at the cottage. One warning- there are some small cactus plants and sand spurs in the grass that you should look out for when you have your dogs out and about. Our family also loved the central location of Nags Head as there was much to do and see. We would highly recommend Fish Heads Bar & Grill for dinner on the deck with live music and Mama Kwan's for delicious fish tacos. Austin Fish Co. was our go to for local seafood, which we cooked 5 out of the 7 nights we were there. While they weren't the friendliest people, their selection of seafood was good. Jockey's Ridge State Park was so cool (figuratively speaking) but go when it opens before the sand is too hot to walk on. We would absolutely recommend Tina Tuna to anyone looking for a clean, cozy, affordable, dog-friendly vacation spot in the OBX. We loved our stay at Tina Tuna so much we have already booked it for next summer's vacation!"

  • We had a wonderful time! The house was perfect for our family!

"The house was wonderful and the owners were very courteous. We had one concern about the wifi but it was taken care of quickly and worked well after the owners were made aware. We would love to return again in the future!"

  • Had a ball!!

"The house was clean and relaxed. We liked the fact that the bedrooms were on opposite sides of the living area so there was lots of privacy for couples with kids or multiple couples. The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for us since we cook our own food. We didn't use any of the toys, boats or game room but I am sure that would appeal to some. We stayed outside windsurfing, fishing or visiting local sites. There are plenty of places to eat, grocery store, hardware and bait all very close to the house. The house was close to other houses but it was also somewhat secluded. We never felt like we were overcrowded by other homes. For sailers: It was perfect for us. The large yard allowed us to rig and stay rigged the entire week. There was a water hose for rinsing gear before leaving. Sails can be placed under the house for uv protection. The sound is about 50 yards away with nice steps through a sea wall. The water stays waste deep out about 200 years and then dropped off over my head so newer sailers might not like the off shore jibes in heavy chop. East or west winds mean shallow the entire time. You do get a confused chop because of the sea wall but just past the sea wall the chop is more predictable. I am not a kiter so I don't know how much room is needed to launch. The sound access is narrow so you might want to consider that. Canadian hole is a short drive so that is always an option for beginners. I would recommend this house for sailers for sure. We enjoyed catching see mullet on the beach, blue crabs at the dock and kite flying at the beach. There is just so much to do. The owners were super nice and available by text to answer any questions. We actually feel like we made some new friends and we hope to stay in touch. Of course we will be back also."

  • Family friendly and outstanding views!

"We had an outstanding time at Beach Music! The house was an easy walk to the beach and the views from the deck were incredible. The house is a short drive to all of the major shopping you need in a beach town. There were 11 in our party and we fit nicely. The fact that we could bring our dog, Duke, made the vacation even more enjoyable and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again!"
