  • Dermot from NYC

"My family just returned from a week at The Sunsetter and it was the perfect place to spend our vacation in Kill Devil Hills! From the location (Block from the bay was great for morning jog and a few blocks from the beach in a quiet and serene area.) To the house (Beautiful house where we grilled outside and cooked and had drinks in the 2nd floor kitchen/dining room area. Bottom floor area with access to the pool was awesome/great TV & entertainment center. And the outdoor saltwater pool area was the top of many highlights. We wound up leaving the beach early just to spend more time poolside. The Sunsetter had everything we needed down to small details (beach chairs, cooler, ice packs in freezer)-both entertainment areas & TV's are very impressive. Central location to all activities and restaurants in OBX-Black Pelican and Chili Peppers so close and recommended for dinner, Duck Donuts were big hit. John the owner is a gentleman who has done such an impressive job with all the details to the house(gets back to you asap if you have any questions). The past reviews I read were spot on and I can't tell you how much my group/family really enjoyed the house. Thanks again John! We look forward to staying with you in the future. -Dermot"

  • Great location and home

"We had a great stay here for our vacation on the Outer Banks! This beautifully decorated home is very well located and is an easy walk to the pool, clubhouse and the beach. The parking at the beach was very nice to have. We never had any problem at all finding a spot. There was always plenty of parking. This home is super comfortable and has many amenities. We loved the sofa with the loungers. The Olympics were going on while we were there and there was plenty of room for all ten of us in the living room watching the events. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Plenty of pots, pans, and dishware for family dinners. Having bicycles to use was great and we did not have to bring them from home. We loved the Corolla area. Beautiful trees and flowers everywhere. I would recommend getting over the bridge and onto NC 12 very early in the morning. The lighthouse is only about 3 miles away and I recommend a visit there. The owners were really great and answered all questions very promptly. I would highly recommend this home!"

  • Bright and Cheery Cabana

"This is our second year renting one of the Hatteras Cabanas. They are cozy, free-standing efficiency- style units on stilts. They have nice decks, including a roof top deck for ocean views. The walk to the beach is very short - even for the units that are the farthest from the dune walk over. The Lost Shaker of Salt was a great unit. The kitchen supplies were sufficient to our needs (we like to cook our own meals, we do not go out to eat) and there was a second fridge for our drinks. The bed was comfortable (we did not use the sleep sofa, but there was an extra mattress topper available to make that more comfy too, had we needed it). Having toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags in place when we arrived was a nice touch. The shower supplies were also nice to have available, though we mostly used our own. Erin was very helpful when we were deciding whether to go down for the first day of our stay (Tropical storm Hermine had visited the island just before our stay). Erin stayed in touch and gave us resources to check to help us make our decision. If we decide to stay in Hatteras again next year, Lost Shaker of Salt will be our first choice as a rental. Highly recommended!"

  • "Seaclusion is a must"

"We had a fantastic time here at Seaclusion. Everything was exactly the way it was described. The hosts were always within reach incase we needed help figuring things out and were very accommodating to our large group size. The location of the house was absolutely amazing especially with the extremely short walk to the beach. This allowed our group to go as we please without needing to hop in a car and drive back and forth to a beach all day long. I would definitely stay here again and recommend anyone looking at this property to do the same!"
