"We've stayed here several times. Love the view. Elevator is nice for transporting all our things. But, in addition to the location the main reason we come back is it's always clean and comfortable! We don't have pets (and they allow pets) but I've never seen any traces of previous renters pet hair, so that tells you they clean and maintain it well!"

  • Water water everywhere!

"We just loved the place. The views were impeccable, the home was very clean and comfortable and use of the elevator saved us. We didn't actually use the rooftop (too cold and windy) but were able to venture up one time. Many of the businesses around us were closed but were set to open for the season after our departure. You're so close to everything, there's so much within walking distance to the little dowtown shops and restaurants. Access and communication were great. We would love to revisit in season and possibly rent a boat. Sunsets were breathtaking from any floor. Love this place!!"

  • Lovely place to stay

"Because of the grandchildren's spring break schedule, our week in Southport began March 10 (thanks to Butch letting us come down on Friday night rather than Saturday) and it was a cold, blustery week, no doubt. Regardless, the view from our wall of glass doors just can't be beat. From the small bass boat to the huge tanker ships, there was lots of activity to entertain us here where the Cape Fear River and the Intercoastal waterway meet. When the weather was warmer, we ventured out, walking and walking through the lovely residential streets. Because of the condo's proximity to the shopping district, we also walked there and then on over to the old cemetery where we spent a great deal of time looking at faded headstones and thinking about the people who'd spent their days in this pretty town. From the cemetery or from the condo, it's an easy walk down to the waterfront where there's always a lot of activity. The condo is so perfectly located and 2 children and 3 adults had plenty of room to spread out comfortably. The condo's elevator also made for easy transferral of our luggage and week's supplies from car to second floor. One thing we did last year and repeated this year was our tour with Surf Tours of Southport. Steve does a great job of mixing historical information with movie stars and fun facts and this leisurely ride around town is well worth the time. All-in-all, we had such a great time that we didn't even whine about the rain and wind when those came. Thanks to Butch for providing such a nice place to stay and to Southport for retaining its Southern charm."
