  • Great time

"We were there at Thanksgiving and our children and grand children came for thanksgiving day. It was wonderful. It was a beautiful warm day. We sat in the many rockers in the sun on the front porch then to the back porch rockers when the sun got to hot. The house is very spacious and clean. We will return."

  • Wonderful home with tons of space right on the beach!

"Our family had an amazing week in this home. We used the upstairs den as a 6th bedroom for kiddos and the outside enclosed shower was perfect for keeping sand out of the house. The kitchen is big enough for a few people to cook together while others hang out on barstools at the island and keep the chefs company. The beach was wife open and we had tons of space for bocce ball, corn hole, the tents and all the kids sand toys. No battling for a spot on the sand like at other beaches. Elizabeth, the owner, was kind and attentive to work with too. Very accommodating, down to the lists of instructions of how to use the TVs to the spiral bound planning book she sent us in the mail prior to the trip to help us be organized and prepared. My family would absolutely love to stay here again!"

  • Loved it!

"Brought my parents and other family members to Holden beach for the first time. This property was perfect. Within walking distance of beach access, ice cream parlor, general store, peir, diner and souvenir shop. More than enough dishes and cooking utensils. A Weber grill which we used to cook steak, chicken and hot dogs all in one evening. An outdoor hot/cold shower which makes it sooooo nice after coming back from the beach. I had a few questions upon arrival which the owner answered promptly and was very helpful. Spent every morning drinking coffe on the back deck which overlooks the inner coastal water. Hoping to visit again next summer."

  • Perfect Holden Beach Week

"We feel so fortunate to have been able to book this cottage last minute. We were hesitant because there were no reviews yet. Steve and Andrew at Proactive Vacations were great to work with and assured us the home was nice. We were the 1st tenants in this year and the place was very clean. We were so pleased with the house, and perfect location, we arranged to stay an extra night. And Dee at ‘Dee’s by the Sea Rentals’ was super to bring our linens by after hours. We’ve been coming to Holden for almost 25 years. This cottage is exactly what we look for and is one of the nicest we’ve stayed in. We always look for something North of the Pier, it’s quieter, and love it when we’re opposite a marsh area, as this home is, for sunset views and bird watching. This home has been very thoughtfully updated. An older, more affordable, cottage with a floor plan we are familiar with: 2 bedrooms on either side that share jack-n-jill bathrooms. Very clean, with fresh white paint, feels bright and beachy. Decks just pressure washed. Bathrooms have nice new white surrounds & small pedestal sinks. The dining table, which seats 8, is tall, so you can eat and watch the surf. 4 more seats at the kitchen counter. The living room sofa is comfortable place to watch the tide or the large wall-mounted TV. The original hardwood floors have just been refinished and have such charm and character. The kitchen is one of the best equipped we’ve seen. Sharp knives, plenty of dishes, good quality pots and pans, even plenty of zip-lock storage containers…so thoughtful. There is a generous covered front porch that provides a wonderful place to watch herons and egrets, bring your binoculars. The two ocean front bedrooms have exterior doors that walk out onto the back deck which is probably 10 x 30 feet. The center third is covered for shade. We’ve enjoyed watching the shrimp boats, pelicans and dolphins go by. Just steps to the ocean’s edge, maybe 15 yards. Sitting between two similar houses (not sandwiched between huge duplexes) there is always a nice breeze. The view is unobstructed and panoramic. The location in the 500 block is perfect. Close enough to the Pier to enjoy a 5-10 minute walk for ice cream, but far enough away from any crowd, or public access. The beach really feels like your own heaven. Hope we can come back soon, thanks for sharing this lovely home."
