  • Our stay

"We are a family of five and we traveled there with another family. The house had plenty of space so we didn't feel we were right on top of each other. The kitchen is well stocked. Sitting out on the balconies was the best part!!! Beautiful ocean view!!!"

  • Wonderful Getaway!

"This year is the first year we've taken a week long family vacation and decided that the beach would be a good location. My co-worker recommended Holden Beach because this is where her family has been coming all her life. My family and I recently stayed at this beautiful cottage mid June and it was a wonderful experience. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed to make us feel at home. The space was enough for my family of three adults and three children. My daughter was surprise that I was able to be her several times while playing ping pong in the game room. My family enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to the water from the canal. They also enjoyed fishing and crabbing off the dock attached to the house. My 23 month old grandson was so excited about walking to the beach while holding his fishing pole in his hand. Every morning he would wake up and say, "Fishing pole, beach, water!" It was the high point of my vacation just watching him enjoy fishing with his grandpa (papa). The people in the area were very friendly and the beach was just perfect. it wasn't crowded at all. We had plenty of space to relax and enjoy swimming in the ocean. The area itself is perfect for families. It's quiet and the cottage is a quick walk to the beach. I've already recommended this cottage to my friends and other family members for their family vacation."

  • Comfy beach house with great location

"You can't beat the location of this original beach house. It is a close walk to restaurants and bars with excellent beach access directly across the street. If you can't get oceanfront, this is a good next best thing. I also liked how close we were to the bridge as traffic can back up and it seemed preferable to stay on this end of the island for easier access on and off. The house was well appointed and we had everything we needed to cook and make coffee or smoothies. We ate at "home" most of the week. I slept like a baby in the master bedroom, the beds were extremely comfortable and I adore ceiling fans. I had a fractured foot this trip and I was disappointed the back yard was not fenced in as I had anticipated. We brought our two small dogs and it would have been nice to not have to go down the stairs with them each time. However, they loved the front porch and all the action on Ocean Blvd. This was our first experience with Holden Beach and we will definitely be back. The parking situation was also nice, up to three spots right in front. We had only one vehicle, but had plenty of room to store our 2 kayaks. My only complaint, the house was really dusty. It is an older home with a lot more decorations than most. I am used to pet friendly houses not being the newest and cleanest, but I feel it needs a deep dusting and cleaning. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and are appreciative of the family opening their home to us."
