  • Ideal beach accomodations at Surf City, NC.

"Wonderful accomodations. Great access to beach, local pool, playground for children, and easy access to intercoastal waterway views. Walking distance to "downtown" Surf City, NC. Sleeps 10 with 3 bedrooms and two decks for sunrise/sunset viewing. A real winner for a family."

  • Thanksgiving at the Beach

"Our stay here was fantastic! Love the high end patio furniture! Spent a lot of time out on the deck soaking up the sun. The owner responded to every contact quickly and made to whole process wonderful. The place was very clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils. The beds were very comfortable and the high end mattress coverings were outstanding! Very much looking forward to future stays."

  • Wonderful, Memorable Beach Vacation!

"We arrived at the Pelican Palace and were pleased from the first view! It is charming on the outside and beautifully clean and decorated on the inside. We found everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals (the dishwasher was even bigger than ours at home!) and a very organized pantry with laundry and extras. The views were absolutely to-die-for and we enjoyed being so close to the beach that our kids could run in and out and we could see and hear them. It was fun going to eat at Max's Pizza, Island Delight, & the Fractured Prune for hot, fresh donuts in the mornings. Our photographer daughter got some breath-taking shots of sunsets over the sound (within walking distance), too! There were little touches like great books to read (including children's books in the kid's rooms), a kayak!, boogie boards, sand toys, puzzles and games too. Everyone in our family - from the adults to all kids (ages 18, 16, 12, 9 & 7) enjoyed the trip and the house immensely! Thanks so much for letting us stay in your little piece of paradise :)"

  • Great House in a Beautiful, Relaxed Beach Setting

"We just spent a wonderful Thanksgiving week with extended family, ranging from 6 months to grandparents, and we had a wonderful time at this property. The kitchen had more pots & pans than we had at home so it was perfect for all the Thanksgiving cooking - Ted even made sure we had a turkey roaster. All the bedrooms were comfortable and the pillows and linens were great quality. Our favorite hang out spot was the front deck with plenty of great chairs and beach views. We watched dolphins several mornings as we sipped our coffee. The backyard, pool and hot tub were so relaxing and private. This would be the perfect hang out for summer cook outs - especially with the covered picnic shelter. We really appreciated the large storage shed in the backyard where we stored several bikes. The beach access is almost right across the street which made it so convenient to go out and play, take a quick walk, and the kids even rode their bikes several days on the beach which was so fun since they had no cars to worry about as they raced back and forth to the nearby pier. There was also a small playground a few blocks away on the sound and a larger playground on the sound beside the bridge coming onto the island. Both parks had elevated walking trails out into the sound. The Fractured Prune donut shop is within walking distance of the house and was a fun spot to splurge. Ted was wonderful to work with and it was very apparent that he wanted our stay to be exactly what it was - relaxing and stress-free. Would recommend this property with no hesitation. Hope we get to come back one day!"
