  • Lovely beach cottage

"We spent four days here and we had a great time! The location of this house can't be beat. Literally ON the beach. It was so nice to be able to sit on the deck and watch my daughter play on the beach. It would start to rain and we would just walk up the steps into the house for 10 minutes until the rain passed, then head back out. No need to pack everything you own to walk down to the beach because you are right there! Awesome. As far as the house goes, it's obvious that this is a well loved beach cottage owned by a nice family. The house is older and if you are used to staying in luxury beach homes, you may be surprised when you walk in the front door and realize that this house is not what you might call luxury. The decor is cute and everything is well used and well loved. The spiral stairs are a little difficult to climb up and down due to the fact that they are very narrow. I could barely get up the stairs carrying my baby. I didn't let my toddler go up and down the stairs on her own. If you have an older person in your group or a disabled person, I would think it would be difficult for that person to navigate the stairs. To conclude this review, I would say that I would come back again! The location is so awesome. Best beach view I have ever had!! The only problem we encountered was not really having enough kitchen space to store our food. All cabinets are full and the fridge was halfway full with the owners or maybe previous renters food. Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your cottage with us!"

  • We thought the townhouse was awesome! The location - short of being right on the beach - was perfec

"Everything was in good working condition. The furniture for this being a new property was a bit worn, but other than that it was nicely decorated and the pictures on the website do reflect the property. The pool was small, but if you do absolutely need a pool, it works. It was clean, but very plain and not much seating around it. I would stay there again though - I thought the location in Surf City was excellent!!"

  • Lovely stay!

"We are just back from seven nights at this property and had a wonderful trip. The property is in a great location--it is just a walk along the beach from Surf City Pier, a short walk from a great coffee/donut shop (The Daily Grind) and also close the a top-rated NC spa (Inis Spa). We loved the ability to take advantage of local attractions without having to load up in the car. A highlight for my kids was the Surf City Fire Department, just across the street a bit from the house. My sons (4 and 3) loved seeing the fire trucks, and on one morning one of the men from the fire department saw us walk by and was nice enough to come out and approach us with firefighter hats for the kids. They also loved Soundside Park (though we did have to drive to that one). The beach here is great. Very clean and well-patrolled--we saw town workers on the beach each day, regularly emptying public trash receptacles and patrolling. We found the residents of the area to be very friendly, often saying hello or chatting with our kids on the way by. From the top level of the home the ocean views are almost surreal. We loved watching the ocean from the kitchen/dining room/living room. On our first morning we were sitting down for breakfast and quickly noticed dolphins out in the water--we were fortunate enough to see them several more times as well! We also saw a few large groups of pelicans and the kids loved watching them dive in and out of the water. The house itself is spacious and allows for both privacy and togetherness. The kitchen is well-equipped and made cooking for our group a breeze. The stand alone ice maker is a great addition to the kitchen. We also appreciated the washer and dryer very much. The only (very minor) nuisance for us was some splinters walking on and off the beach--the stairs are a little weathered, so make sure you bring flip flops to wear as you walk to and from the beach. Overall we were very happy with our stay here and all agreed we would love to re-visit Paradise Revisited!"

  • Great Deal !!!

"This was a beautiful townhouse located very close to the ocean with a very nice ocean view and beautiful sunsets as well. It was very roomy and we loved the big, flat beach, soft sand and warm water. What a bonus to be able to bring our German Shepherd. Our host was very accommodating and easy to deal with. We would definitely recommend this vacation rental!!"
