  • Wonderful Lake Retreat

"This home was gorgeous!! Just as everyone before has said, the pictures do not do this house any justice. It was breathtaking to walk in for the first time and see the magnificent architecture and amazing views. The rooms were all extremely spacious and kept going and going....we were like little kids walking through the basement for the first time in awe. We enjoyed the dock everyday. The kayaks and paddle boards provided many hours of entertainment for my teenagers. We rented jet skis one day from CS Performance and had a blast with those too. As this was our first time in the Lake Norman area, I found it refreshing that it was not a touristy area. It was quiet and relaxing. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I would love to come back in the fall sometime and use the hot tub and outdoor fireplace...it was way too hot to even think of using it this past week! We will definitely keep this home on our list of places to return!"

  • Nice place

"Our group was 4 adults, 4 children, and a dog. Overall we had a great time, the owner was extremely nice and willing to help with any questions we had. He accomodated a coupled special requests and we were very grateful. The house was clean and well taken care of, the recent renovations (new carpet) are definitely nice. The location is great, feels like you are far from town but the reality is that anything you need is only 10 minutes away. This is a legit log cabin so be aware that lighting isn't all that great in some places (mainly kitchen) and the ceilings are vaulted/low on the top floor. The main floor bathroom has been updated but the basement and top floor could use some renovation - although they work fine. The yard and fire pit are great - kids had a lot of fun running around since we had surprisingly warm weather for winter. One thing that we found rather strange was that none of the beds were made when we arrived. There were clean sheets on each bed but we had to make them ourselves. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and never had to do this; it was not a pleasant surprise at 11pm (especially the bunk beds). This is actually more of a comment for the cleaning company but since they are hired by the owners I thought I would mention it. Again, overall a great place in a great location."

  • Delightful and Comfortable

"For a reasonable price, we had a wonderful big house to ourselves!!! In addition to an incredible view and private cove to swim in, we felt very at home and comfortable. The place is cozy and kept up nicely. We hope to be back! Thanks again!!"

  • Perfect spot for us to be with our daughter & 2 grandchildren

"Lake Norman is such a lovely place to be, and this 2 bedroom, one and a half bath cottage was the ideal location for us. The accommodations were very nice, but especially popular with the children were the boats. We went out every day in the paddle boat which our 8yr. old grandson fished from and caught numerous sunfish, a bass, and a catfish - he was delighted! The canoe was so nice to be able to use too - and designed not to be too tippy. It was so nice of the Tatums to share their life vests, boats, yard, dock, entertainment kitchen, and grill with us. Since we were here for a reunion at my brother's on Lake Norman, we didn't take advantage of all that was offered."
