  • 5 STARS for this Amazing House!!

"We are a large group of several families that vacation together every year. We have stayed in large houses in the Outer Banks and once before at Lake Gaston. Out of all our rentals, this house on Osprey Point is our favorite. The owners were wonderful to work with. Their attention to detail, knowledge of the area and easily accessible by phone or text was very helpful. The home is well maintained, clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was stocked with everything you can think of and talk about beautiful, high end appliances and granite everywhere. Each bathroom had loads of soaps and shampoos. The towels were soft and luxurious and plenty of them. The beds were very comfortable. Large couches and side chairs made the living room comfortable for the adults. The kids had their own rec area downstairs with a pool table, Xbox, DirectTV, and dozens of family fun games in a massive wall cabinet. When you walk out onto the huge deck you have a fantastic view of the lake. Early mornings with a cup of coffee sitting at one of the tables watching the sun shimmer of the water is breathtaking. Walk down to the boathouse and up the circular staircase to the upper deck you get a full view of Poe Creek. As our kids have grown into teenagers they love all the activity the lake has to offer. The location on the lake and the amenities of this home kept them busy from the moment we arrived. We brought a boat and several Seadoos and there was plenty of dock to tie them up and pull the boat into boathouse on the lift. There were several kayaks, a paddle board, and a huge trampoline. The kids loved to jump off the upper deck of the boathouse into the deep water to see who could make the biggest splash or touch the bottom. The skiing, wake boarding, wake surfing and tubing on the boat and Seadoos was fantastic in the protected creek that kept the waves under control when the main lake was rough. There were several evenings when everyone loaded up on all the power toys and road out to goat island to play in the water and watch the gorgeous sunsets over the main lake. Our vacation was a 10 out of 10. Great friends, great house, sunny 85 degree low humidity days and water temps in the low 80s made for an amazing vacation and memories that will last a lifetime. If you rent this home you will not be disappointed."

  • Best Decision We Made!

"Of all the decisions we made during the planning process for our daughter's Chapel Hill wedding, renting this home was by far the best! Our family traveled to Chapel Hill from across the state and we were all able to be together during this special time, with plenty of room to spread out. It was so nice to be able to be in a home (and not a hotel!)...we could fix ourselves snacks and meals when we wanted, the children had space to be active, there are several sitting areas so that we weren't all on top of each other, and with all the bathrooms we could all get ready at the same time :-) We held the bridesmaids' brunch on the back terrace and the rehearsal dinner (for 60) in the great room. Both events were awesome. The owner, his sister and Julie were incredible to work with. Our son, a geology major who uses stone and rocks in his business, spent the first day walking around in awe taking pictures of the stone used in the home and grounds. This home is a treasure and we are so thankful we found it and could make it our home for a few days. It made a very special weekend even more special."

  • Peaceful and serene

"My husband and I stayed at this home last fall with our dog. It was very pet-friendly and comfortable. The pictures are accurate. Home is exactly what I expect a lake get-away to be. Bedrooms had nice linens and bedding, and the bedrooms shared a bathroom. The additional half bath was nice. Susan and Terry were very helpful and friendly. We were there during a drought, but we were able to go out in our kayaks on multiple occasions. It was nice to fish from the dock (even though we didn't catch anything!), and the deck is just so enjoyable to sit out on. We found the nearby Dan Nicholas park to be a great place for a run and to walk our dog. We also visited some wineries and historic homes in the area. Great vacation spot."

  • Very happy with this home and owners

"What a fantastic house and location on Hyco Lake. We enjoyed fishing, taking in views from the dock, watching wildlife, cooking in the stocked kitchen and on the grill, boating in the canoes and kayaks and eating in the screened porch. We would happily rent this house again as our experience with the accommodations and owners was fantastic. Thank you Laura and Cosby!"
