  • Lake Gaston Beautiful Home

"What more can you say about a home that has it all. I went with my 3 siblings families for a total of 18 people. The home is so big you are never feel cramped with two levels of family rooms. One night the adults watched the Presidential debate downstairs while big brother was on upstairs. The main reason to come is the lake and the boat dock does not disappoint. We have countless pics of everyone jumping off the second level one at a time in sync! The view is spectacular from the top deck with plenty of seating there and all over the back areas. Fishing was best after dusk where we caught many catfish and others with worms and chicken liver from the piggly wiggly in Littleton. It is about 10 minutes away and has everything you need. The pizzeria next door was great too which serves as a good first dinner while unpacking. Walmart is 25-30 min away as well. We rented a pontoon boat from Stonehouse Timber Lodge with a 115 hp motor which gave everyone good tubing rides. One night the adults only went out on a sunset cruise and jumped in the lake at the middle for one of the best memories and nighttime swimming. There wasn't a boat on the lake and it was if it were all our own. The Stonehouse staff was so friendly and gave us great fishing tips from their tackle shop. We brought kayaks with us and made trips to the deserted little island not far off the point I believe called Goat Island. All the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The bonus room by itself on the top story was my brothers family sanctuary. The property is very big and the walk to the boathouse very easy. Each morning my wife and I took walks around the neighborhood for alone time looking at local homes dreaming of lake living. The Starbucks room was the local hanging out area where if someone dared to get up the seat was quickly taken. We all left knowing we would be missing this fine lake home. We would love to come again as the owners were very responsive and caring with any minor issue that came up. Our entire family felt we left the home just as we found it to make an easy transition for the cleaners for the next set of guests eager to arrive. Thank you Paula and Perry for letting us call your home our home for the week! Kevin from Long Island, NY"

  • Great house for family reunion

"We were 3 families that met in the middle for a family reunion. Our group included adults and children of various ages. This house had plenty of room and never felt crowded. The yard is huge and even had a swing set. The dock was great and we rented a boat for a few days and was able to keep it right at the house. I was concerned regarding the reviews related to internet connection in the past-but happy to say that is resolved and my connectivity and cell service was fine all week. Lake Gaston area is quiet and relaxing-fishing wasnt great but did catch some. I wish i had longer to stay- and definitely plan on going back."

  • Family Vacation To Remember!

"This will be our "go-to" lake spot from now on. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The home was spacious and CLEAN. Kitchen had all the tools needed to make a large family meal. Dining table sat us all! The home is a ranch (all one level), which was nice for my in laws. My boys perused the video collection and started watching "Men in Black"; when I shut it off for dinner they panicked and we laughed as we explained VHS will not "lose your spot". The wifi was fast, too, if you're concerned. Water pressure was good. I loved having a washer and dryer and the one here works well. This was a very relaxing vacation for sure. The men and boys would go out on the boat (rented from local marina) early in the morning, return for lunch and do some family activities. Our small boys enjoyed fishing right from the dock and swimming right at the shoreline. The home is at the end of a private cul-de-sac with plenty of yard for the kids to run around in. We celebrated birthdays on the large back deck and I often could be found reading a book in the hammock with views of the lake. There is a Food Lion and Dollar General so very close, which was helpful to get milk and any ingredients I needed for our meals. We will definitely be back!"
