  • I was overly amazed at the property and it's location! Best view ever, I fell in love with it!

"I would recommend this property to everyone, if you like mountains, trees, or water, this place delivers it all and then some. My friends that shared this place with my family were all in awe from the first site to our last day there. No body wanted to leave this place and we all agreed that this will not be our last time there. It's a hidden gem and I would love to be there again and again, next time maybe in the fall, the change of color in vegetation must look spectacular. The owners were very accommodating and quick to respond. We grilled, swam in an amazing lake, had a massive fire in a largest fire pit I have ever seen, rented a pontoon boat to explore the lake, there are so many things to do there 3 days just did not do it justice. Thank you for sharing this magnificent property with the public! I look forward to coming back for a longer stay!"

  • This cabin by the creek is a very relaxing place to stay. It was quiet, and 'away from it all'.

"There were beautiful water falls nearby without long hikes. Lovely old charm decor. No internet so this is the place to spend time with each other. Long talks, board games, swinging on the glorious deck and hide and seek are a few things we did."

  • Wonderful place to vacation

"Barefoot Trace is a wonderful place to spend a few days or weeks for rest and relaxation. It is located just off the main road. Once you arrive, you will think you are deep in the woods. It is very quiet and secluded. This is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom cabin with a floorplan of 2 master bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own private bath. It was extremely clean upon our arrival. It's easily accessible for those with mobility issues. It's quite large with a couch and 2 recliners in the living area. The king bed is comfortable. Can't comment on the queen bed as we did not use it. It has a full size kitchen with everything we needed to prepare simple meals (except the food). There are plenty of towels. The front porch is large and has a great view of the front yard. You can catch glimpses of the creek and can hear it all the time. The porch is great for relaxing, reading a book, watching the birds and fireflies...and for listening to the rain! It's an easy walk to the creek. There is an area where you can build a small fire for roasting hotdogs or marshmallows. There is a washer and dryer available for your use. If coming beware you have to supply your own paper products, cleaning and laundry supplies. All in all this is a fantastic place to spend your vacation. Highly recommended! We also appreciated the cleaning upon our departure being taken care of by the owner. I don't like to clean when I am on vacation! Just to note, there was some confusion on the dates we requested and the owner returning our security deposit before we stayed, but all the details were ironed out and all was well."

  • Another Amazing Weekend at Way-a-Way

"We just returned from another weekend at Way-a-Way Cabin near Cherokee and it couldn't have been nicer. It was very clean and had everything we needed to make a nice chili dinner to enjoy by the fireplace while watching TV. It was very close to Cherokee and we really enjoyed it. We will be returning very soon."
