  • Perfect weekend getaway!

"My friends and I stayed here for two nights in July and couldn't have been happier! The location to Nantahala and Lake Fontana couldn't be more perfect. Bryson City isn't far of a drive either for a night out. The cabin is adorable. AC units in the bedrooms, comfy back porch, and the cabin was stocked with all the basic necessities. Thank you again Adrienne and Joel!"

  • GORGEOUS MOUNTAIN GETAWAY!!!

"Our family was looking for a quaint, mountain cabin to enjoy a quality, family-time vacation and Rona's cabin was IT! From the moment we stepped through the front door, we fell in love with Sunali cabin! The breakthtaking views of Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains from the entire back of the house are stunning. Our children 9yr & 7yr loved the cozy loft immediately. They couldn't believe their eyes when they saw a little trunk tucked in a corner and just like "magic" found HARRY POTTER dvds inside! We are a huge Harry Potter family and were delighted to find this gem in the loft! Another treat was waking up early each morning, building a fire in the gorgeous outdoor stone fireplace and enjoying our morning coffee while watching the sunrise greet the day in peaceful silence. It was therapeutic and a welcome change from our hectic lives. The cabin was very comfortable and had plenty of room. The exposed wood work was gorgeous; VERY CLEAN. The only minor glitches we came across were several burned out light bulbs (no problem) and some areas that may need a bit of sprucing up - quite a few spider webs/dusty corners mostly outside on porch/deck. ; ) Rona had amazing advice for us regarding activities that were age-appropriate for our kids and she was spot on! Our first day we spent at Deep Creek tubing and hiking to beautiful water falls. Because our area has had a lack of rain, the river was quite low which caused getting stuck in rocks and boulders numerous times but nothing a few tugs or wiggles couldn't solve and certainly didn't impact our great fun! Another day we rented a pontoon boat to go exploring around Fontana Lake. Almond Boat Rental was fantastic and about 4 minutes from Sunali! We tried our hand at fishing and tubing off the back of the boat - great fun! We packed lunch, snacks and drinks for a fun day on the boat. Another day we went mountain biking along the Ocanaluftee River Trail in Cherokee. It was perfect! A great trail for our 7yr old daughter who has never been mountain biking, exciting enough for our 9yr old son and safe and fun enough for mom and dad! We did the trail twice for a total of 6 miles! We then explored the Cherokee Indian Village and loved watching the demonstrations of pottery, weaving, weapon making and more. It was very educational yet fun! We can't thank Rona enough for welcoming us into her home & allowing us to experience such a peaceful vacation with our children. We will definitely be back!"

  • Awesome little secuded in the hills!

"Our family stayed at this cabin this week. When we arrived, the cabin was clean. They provide everything you could possible need, fresh linens, fully stocked kitchen with newer appliances (including a dishwasher), and a mini fridge sink, microwave, and toaster in the downstairs master suite! The beds were VERY COMFORTABLE! They might have been the best beds we have ever slept in away from home! They provide bird food and corn for feeders located around the decks, and it was interesting watching the birds and squirrels in the morning! The cabin is high enough up the hill to feel very private, even though there are other cabins nearby. We could only see one, through the trees below us, and we couldn't see much, just a little light and the color of a car parked there. We brought our motorcycle to take a few rides while we were here. There is enough room to trailer in, as long as your trailer is small, and you can unhook and walk it around to turn around (there isn't quite enough room to turn it around at the cabin). Yes, the road up is steep, and perhaps a little scary the first time, but it's not horrible. I was a little worried about riding the bike down and up the road to the cabin, but my worries were unfounded. I think it was easier than driving the truck up. We only rode a few hundred miles through the mountains (our teenage kids were with us, so we didn't think it fair to leave them for long), but this is some beautiful riding! I can't imagine much prettier except for some of those bucket list place like the Pacific Coast Highway. We were looking for a place, away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but close enough to the Smoky Mountains National Park to make day trips. This location perfectly fit the bill. We took day trips into the park to Cades Cove, Clingmans Dome, and many other parts of the park. We grabbed meals in Townsend, Bryson City, and Cherokee, and was happy with each meal (check tripadvisor for the highest ranked places). We also prepared several meals in the cabin, especially breakfasts, but also used the provided grill to prepare steaks and burgers! If were return to the Smokies, we would definitely book this place again."
