  • Excellent couple's getaway!

"This cabin is nestled privately in the woods, but close enough to Bryson City, Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to enjoy plenty of activities. This was our second stay in this cabin and we loved it just as much as the first time. Each time we found it spotless, with everything we needed. The cabin is fairly new and still in like new shape. We loved the patio addition and built a fire in the fire pit every night. The hot tub was clean and very enjoyable with the low lighting and screened tent. There is a hiking trail very near to the cabin. The cabin is perfect for a couple to get away, enjoy the woods or venture out for a hike or a train ride in nearby Bryson. There are some great restaurants nearby, such as Guayabitos Mexican Restaurant and Everett Street Diner. I highly recommend this cabin."

  • Amazing Views!

"We are a family of 6 and stayed in this cabin the middle of July. The cabin was clean, cozy and the air condition worked well. We loved sitting out in the hot tub at night under the stars seeing the lights of Bryson city way down below. The comments about the ride up to the cabin are true, the road up was a bit nerve racking(not sure you could make it in winter with snow and ice), but once you make it up the views are as advertised, amazing! and yes you are above the clouds almost every morning. My only suggestion would be maybe to include a map with the directions or add a few more signs lower on the mountain. We found the directions to the cabin a bit hard to understand and took multiple wrong turns. Eventually after asking a homeowner on the mountain we were able to find the right path. Some of the other rentals had signs lower on the mountain to help guide you. Far Horizons did have a sign higher on the mountain, but we took a few wrong turns before we came across it. The cabin was stocked well with dishes and cooking utensils. We have stayed at other rental before that had some basic spices etc, but other than salt and pepper you will want to make sure to bring your own if you plan to cook. Also there is not trash service and you need to haul your trash out with you. The rental company only provided one trash bag so if you stay for more than a couple of days you will probably want to have some extra trash bags. We had an amazing time exploring the Smokies and waterfalls of North Carolina, if we ever come back to this part of the country I would defiantly stay at Far Horizon again."
