"The pictures of Cold Mountain Retreat can't do it justice. The house is relatively new, nicely decorated and the view is spectacular. The surrounding houses are upscale and the road to the house well maintained asphalt. It's remote, safe and comfortable. The housekeeping is excellent. All three bathrooms, the kitchen, the floors and even windows were clean. The owners have thought of everything; a flashlight by the front door to read the key lock, labels on closets and wall switches, maps and menus, books, binoculars, gas grill, hiking supplies and a well written "Welcome Notes". There was a minor air-conditioning problem and the owner was right on it. It was serviced within 24 hours and we were never inconvenienced. Great house!"

  • Most relaxing vacation!!!

"Had a great time! It's was the most relaxing vacation we have had in awhile. Will be back soon. The only down side was we had to make the bed and kinda clean up a little. But it was that big of deal. We love this cabin so we will be back. 🍃💕"

  • Fabulous

"Beautiful, relaxing spot in the NC mountains! Cabin is fully stocked and very homey! Large enough for our group of 5 with many little niches for solitary time. Porch is awesome. Needs a new Weber kettle. Be sure to bring charcoal. Be sure to bring along a NC State Map; GPS does not work in this area and a full tank of gas! Thanks to Dan for a great stay! We want to come back!"

  • Unique Property

"This was a great get-away! The "cottage" is beautiful, well equipped and very clean. The grandchildren (10 and 7) had a blast. They caught lots of fish and a large turtle. Really enjoyed the patio fire. The Chef's Table restaurant in Waynesville is VERY good. I wish I knew more about the history of the place. It's as if a development were envisioned, started and not finished. Which is actually nice because instead of a lot of houses, you have beautiful wide opened spaces."
