  • Breath-taking Vistas; Incredible Serenity!!

"This beautiful home is surrounded by breath-taking vistas to inspire awe and incredible serenity to soothe the soul. The home is situated in a beautiful mountain community in Cashiers, NC. Cashiers and the surrounding communities offer amazing outdoor activities (hiking, zip-lining, white water rafting, sight-seeing and shopping )as well as an array of restaurants to please any palate. The home is beautifully appointed, comfortable and well-stocked with all the amenities. Mr. Davis, the owner, was a gem to work with! He was very responsive, helpful and hospitable. My family and I shared a wonderful, relaxing and memorable vacation and definitely plan to return to this very spacious, family-friendly home! I would highly recommend this home to my friends and family."

  • Wonderful Property

"My extended family and I spent the first week in July at this property for my birthday get-together, and we had a wonderful time. The house is cozy and comfortable, and the kitchen is nicely equipped. Since we prefer home-cooked meals to restaurant food, we prepared all of our meals, except for one, at the cabin. The large porch in the back is perfect for grilling and hanging out. The covered front porch was awesome for reading and relaxing. The owner was always responsive to our questions and great to work with. If you want to have some peace and quiet, away from traffic noise and a flurry of activity, this property is for you. There are a few golf courses and multiple hikes that are a short drive away, which is exactly what we were looking for. For those who want to stay connected there is WiFi. We were too relaxed to make much use of that..."

  • For the price the property was great; new furnishings and great access to the lake.

"We loved this vacation. The property had two stories, which I hadn't realized from pics. Internet access didn't work for us but we were there to be outside so we didn't mind. It is a short walk down to a fun lake with a beach and boat/kayak rentals. Our kids--8 and 10--also really enjoyed the amenities. The "resort" isn't luxurious but for little kids, it was great. They loved the pool, the putt putt course, and the game room with ping pong, pool, air hockey, etc. There were even buckets of dirt and a sluice for "mining" you could buy and mine for gems. The access to amenities costs $2 per day for adults--under 14 are free. Lee was excellent to work with and was willing to let us come early and check out late. He responded immediately to all questions. We loved hiking and swimming in falls in Gorges Park (only 10+ minutes away)and enjoyed driving to other waterfalls in the area. I didn't give it five stars because no internet, some of the kitchen utensils/pots were dirty, and it wasn't completely amazing. However, the property obviously had been updated and it was great. We appreciated the two beds in the second bedroom so kids could have their own--beds were comfortable and the property actually looks nicer than it does in the pics. For the price it was excellent. We will be coming back to this area."

  • ***Good house but BEWARE***

"My extended family and I visited this home for an important reunion, some of us having spent 15+ hours driving. We were grateful to Andy for permitting us to stay for just a weekend. I echo all the excellent things that have been said by the many other reviewers who appropriately rate this house a 5. I must share some important facts for readers interested in further perspective here. The write up and pictures of this set up is unfair and misleading - at least as of this writing. I noticed that others have complained about this as well, so at this point it is just not open and honest. Here's the reality: Andy has bought into a clubhouse on bear Lake. This lake is a long drive away: at least 30 minutes. Yes it is beautiful and worth visiting. But, despite the pictures of it on the VRBO website, there was no description to be found on how to access it, where it is, how to get access onto the private grounds, etc. after seeking help for an hour at a local store we eventually figured it out, but this did not get our weekend off to a good start. We were unhappy that such a simple thing as providing a paragraph as instructions would not of been thought of given selling it on the website. Just a note of clarity: The description of access to a pontoon boat is correct, but it must be reserved and the price of $150 was omitted. I was surprised yet again when I learned this. When we arrived at 3pm the cleaning had not been done. We were greeted with dirty dishes, linens, everything. Our first evening was wasted waiting for the cleaning lady and then watching her do her work through 7:30pm. Andy was aware of this but made Little effort to communicate about or offer to compensate for it. We all found this disappointing and Noted that we would expect never to treat my customer like that. Finally, there is in fact a grill there but it was unusable due to filth. Had I known all the facts going in I likely would have gone with one of the other properties. The snafu with the cleaning with no offer of recompense was poorly handled. That said, it's a good house and location. I echo the positives mentioned in the other reviews. So... A good experience but not accurate on the site. Many ways to improve. Buyer beware."
