  • Beautiful

"Elaine was very prompted answering my emails. The home was clean and well maintained. We spent most of our time on the deck with the fireplace. You feel like you are in a tree house. There were 7 adults and 4 small children. There was plenty of space for all of us. Will be coming back here again. Thanks Elaine for sharing you beautiful home with us. We had a great family vacation."

  • Beautiful location and lovely home!

"Summer Haven was the perfect spot for our family during our summer camp drop off weekend. The house is on a secluded lot with nothing but trees as your lovely view from the porch that wraps around two sides of the house. We enjoyed the porch for meals, playing board games (found in the house!) and sipping a glass of wine. The house itself is well-appointed, very clean and comfortable. We cooked two meals there and found everything we needed in the kitchen to make the meals. The beds were comfortable (all are on the second floor) and there were plenty of pillows and blankets to go around. The location itself is ideal for hikers and bikers. We did not bike this trip but my husband is eager to book this house again and spend the entire time mountain biking the trails in Dupont. The entrance to the park is super close to the house. You could definitely ride your bike to some of the mountain bike trail heads. The house has a notebook with info on trails as well as a couple of books. We took our 8-year-old and our dog on the loop trail that goes to Triple Falls and High Falls. It was an easy hike with pretty scenery and fun swimming holes. (By the way, the house is dog friendly – it is equipped with dog bowls, special dog towels and a book devoted to hiking with your dog.) The house is close to Brevard (took us about 20 minutes) and Hendersonville (more like 30 minutes through Dupont). There is a convenience store near the house with limited items and a beer garden at entrance to Dupont that looked like fun but we didn’t have time to try. Full amenities and good restaurants in both Brevard and Hendersonville (check out the great toy store in Brevard). West First in Hendersonville is one of our favorite restaurants. As noted in the listing, we had no cell phone coverage on either Verizon or AT&T but the wifi in the house worked well. Thank you Melinda for a great stay! We really hope we can get back there one day soon!"

"This was a fantastic house, perfect for the whole family. The location is amazing and there is plenty to do in the backyard on the river. We hope to stay here again in the future!"

  • Beautiful setting in secluded woodlands.

"We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the streamside home. One of the most impressive features of the home was the way in which the home has been stocked. We have never stayed anywhere (and we own at the Hyatt) that was so well provisioned. From the kitchen utensils to the detergents for laundry and kitchen. Everything worked. The beds were comfortable and we could tell that there had been no scrimping budget wise on the furnishings and other aspects of the house. Our only reservations involved the downstairs bathtub/shower. Upon arrival we had to evict a large brown recluse spider, but beyond that it was daunting to maneuver in and out of the tub due to its height. I imagine it would provide some seniors with a real challenge. Additionally, it was awkward washing in the deep copper basin in the downstairs bath. Unfortunately, we had rain every day we were there, but we did have a break on Saturday and the kids were able to roast their marshmallows in the patio fireplace. We would definitely return, and concur with all the positive accolades from those who have stayed there over time."
