  • Great Family Getaway

"Our time at Bison Overlook was Awesome!!! The views were amazing, kitchen stocked well, game room was great. The cabin is in between Maggie Valley and Asheville, which was perfect for everything we had planned. We had animals visit us in the back yard while hanging around the firepit and enjoying the amazing weather. Would definately recommend this place for an great getaway!"

  • Perfect!

"My husband and I just got back from a six night stay at this cabin, and we already want to go back! We've been going to the North Carolina mountains for years, and this is hands down our favorite rental. Everything was perfect. The mountain views are truly unbelievable. We saw one of the prettiest sunsets I've ever witnessed sitting on the porch, and drinking coffee on that porch every morning was the perfect way to start the day. The inside of the cabin was just as lovely as the outside, beautiful antiques everywhere, and really comfy furniture. There were just the two of us on this trip (my husband and I), but there is more than enough room for a large family to vacation here. We were there during a heat wave, according to the locals, but we just kept the windows and doors open, and were perfectly comfortable. There is an AC upstairs in the master loft bedroom where we slept, but we only used it a couple of times while getting ready to go eat dinner. The kitchen was fully stocked with absolutely everything you could need to cook a huge meal. There was even a coffee grinder! We were a little worried about no internet, but our phones worked great, and we didn't miss wifi one bit. There is satellite tv with lots of channels if you feel like relaxing and watching tv, but we hardly turned it on. The drive to the cabin is up a mountain, but it's an easy drive. A regular car would have zero problems getting to the cabin. The owner Nancy, and her property manager Vicki, were two of the nicest people I've ever met. Nancy has put so much love into this cabin. It felt like a home, rather than a vacation rental. P.S. Stop at one of the many produce stands and grab a few apples for the ponies and horse. They'll love you for it. The llama and alpacas were fun to watch, too!"

  • Excellent home away from home!

"We were a group of 14 people who stayed at this property for the long weekend. The property was exactly as it is described. It is the highest house on that mountain top with excellent views. It is a quiet place and very serene. Lynda provided instructions - just follow them and you will be fine. One advice - do have a 4x4 vehicle - otherwise it is tough to get to the top. Also, first time you go there, make sure you reach that place before it gets dark - will save you some anxiety - overall, we loved that place!! Thanks Lynda! SG"

  • Quiet and relaxing

"This was a good overall place to relax after spending all day in Asheville or elsewhere. It was quiet and clean and only smelled of cow manure in the evenings. I do wish the creek was accessible but it was nice to listen to. The wifi is weak and its difficult to stream sports or movies but that's first world problems you can live with although when you pay for services it would be nice to receive them."
