  • Wonderful vacation

"We spent over 3 weeks in this mountain getaway. The owner, Trudy Upshaw did everything possible to insure that our stay was comfortable and memorable. The evenings sitting on the porch in the cool air was so refreshing. We loved feeding the birds. There were plenty of creature comforts and it felt like home. From the minute you walk in, the house felt warm and inviting. Our experience was very much like camping in the woods with a mountain view but staying in a house with all the things that you need. It's location is not only convenient to Franklin which is a great and friendly little town but we went whitewater rafting, boating, took a ride on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad, and even went on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is so much to do if you want to be active. I am a bicyclist and the local bike shop in Franklin helped me out when I broke a wheel. The Smokey Mountain Bike Shop is wonderful and they provided me with riding routes as well. We would definitely stay again!!!!"

  • Enjoyed!

"We had a wonderful, relaxing time from our Mountain top cabin deck. The view was awesome and always changing. Went from seeing for miles down the valley to looking more like an ocean of clouds, and at night it changed again. One early morning (about 4:30am) I just had to go out on the deck again, what a sight the whole deck was lit up and the almost full moon was directly above like a spot light, what a heavenly site, very moving. We did have a very noisy time with the acorns dropping on the roof top and deck and when the breeze picked up we had to go under the porch for fear of getting hit LOL, but quickly got use to that and then had some fun with it. The hummingbirds kept us amused as well and had to refill the bottle with the recipe taped on the refrigerator. Have to admit we enjoyed our view and the cabin more than driving around the Smokey National Park."
