  • The Village Cabin #18 review.

"Overall the cabin was very nice and clean. (just some cobwebs on the lamps in the living room and dining room). But everything else was very clean. Layout, amenities and location was as described. The cabin sits at one end of the property where there are a total of 10 cabins, all very nice and similar in construction. Surrounding a pond with 2 rock formation fountains and a wooden bridge. I would recommend this property to friends and family. It is very centrally located, and easy to get to on flat paved roads. NOT high up the mountain with alot of winding roads. It is near Smoky Mtn. Nat. Park, Catalochee Ski Resort, Blue Ridge Parkway, Waynesville and only 35 - 40 mins from Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, etc. The only thing I would explain to my friends and family is that the views from the cabin are not that great. As you sit in your back porch in very nice rocking chairs and hear the creek, the view is of an RV park. In the front of the cabin across the street the view is of a trailer home park and a storage facility. So if you are looking to spend a lot of time sitting outside on the porch and looking at beautiful mountains or forest views, maybe this is not the cabin for you. But if you will be going out every morning sightseeing and coming back late in the evening to relax, its great. As I said, it is close to everything, restaurants, Ingles (supermarket), and of course Joey's Pancake House (the best breakfast place in the area). The inside of the cabin is great with a beautiful fireplace and flatscreen TVs in living room and both bedrooms. One last thing I would add is make sure you buy your paper products (paper towels, toilet tissue paper). There is one toilet tissue paper in each bathroom when you arrive. The property management company does tell you this in the agreement you sign to rent the cabin, but just in case you didn't read the fine print I wanted to put it hear. Also there is a washer and dryer, but you need to provide your own detergent and softener. Over all, a great cabin and a great experience. My wife and I were there for a week and were very happy. The management company was very easy to communicate with and everything as far as picking up the keys and drop off were exactly as they explained. Hope this was of help to anyone looking to rent this cabin. Oh! one last thing, instructions on how to use the fireplace (Dampener, how to open and close) would be very helpful for those of us with little fireplace experience."
