  • Adorable old house

"Cute renovated old house with large fenced yard. The house & location were great, a/c, appliances, wi-fi worked well. Loved the Smokehouse across the street. Got take out three times. Dog and I loved the front porch watching everything go by. Need to CAUTION anyone renting from VRBO that the house is not easily accessible to anyone not physically fit. Parking is way up on a hill necessitating a climb down stone & wooden steps to the house. Hubby is 80 & I am 73, needless to say it was difficult to get our things to and from the house. Owner uses a realtor whom we called for assistance however their machine stated that they were away for the weekend so we were left on our own."

  • Beautiful !

"The pictures on google map captured the image of the cabin, but did not capture the beauty, the trees, the stars at night, the firefly, the quietness of the night, the feeling of solitude, we loved the cabin ! A big plus was the fact its in the town of Maggie Valley ! I would assume that for the location alone, the price would be costly, but what a bargain ! The cabin had everything you needed, and was not lacking in anything we could see. Everything I had read about this cabin was as advertised, it was clean and had plenty of towels, fresh sheets, even had laundry detergent on hand ! My wife liked that as she had some clothes to wash and did not want to go shopping the first day. The cabin was clean, floors swept and mopped, it was simply a pleasure to stay. What you really will like, it is accessible to Maggie Valley restaurants in minutes. We ate at Joey's Pancake House for breakfast, they where celebrating 50 years in business and once you eat there you will understand why. I liked the attached garage to park the Harley's, and to access the surrounding areas to ride was a breeze, minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Pisgash, the wives loved going to the Biltmore House. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone reading this review. In fact, we are thinking of returning in the fall, and we will rent this cabin again if it's available ! Next year we are planning another summer visit, and I hope the cabin will be available ! Thanks Ms. Dawn for some great memories !!"

  • Perfect for a family; Clean and Friendly

"This cottage was absolutely perfect! I will recommend it to all of my friends and family and fully intend to return to the area and I would not consider staying anywhere else. Our vacation consisted of a road trip from FL and we used this as a home base. We saw Charlestown, SC the first day, arriving late at the cottage where the owners had everything warm and ready for us. The next day we went into town, after a great recommendation from the owners for a place to have breakfast, and then did some local gem mining. With daylight left, we decided to drive to see Craggy Gardens north of Asheville - an amazing view of the Smokey Mountains and a beautiful, scenic drive. Once again we got home too late to utilize the full kitchen, but were uber grateful for the really (REALLY) comfortable beds! The next day we went to TN, Ruby Falls in Chattanooga, driving through two National Forests and passing the most beautiful river and white water rapids! Small children, long car rides, my daughter's special blanket got covered in chocolate milk - it was so nice to go "home" and find the pantry stocked with laundry detergent and we were able to wash and dry all the laundry of 2 small children. On a side note, also about children, the mine right behind the cottage - across the highway - was perfect! They let us set up a play-yard for the littlest one right at the flume and let my daughter play all over the property when she was tired of mining, but we weren't done. So this cottage is very convenient to that activity. Maybe a 5 minute drive all said and done, if that. Last day we put the furniture back to where it was supposed to be, returned all of the cute decor I didn't want my daughter to break, and headed out. To be honest, I wish we had more time. The cottage had great hot water, an abundance of towels, dishes, pots and pans, a fun layout and upstairs a twin as well as queen bed... so it actually did sleep a full 5 people. Oh and the meadow behind it was huge and a great place for kids to run. Honestly I would never consider another place. I looked at a lot of cottages and this was the only one that seemed to have easy access, paved roads, but still had a view and a secluded (but not too secluded) feel. The privacy of the loft bedroom will be nice when we come back. And plenty of room for play yards to be set up as cribs if you need them (but bring them-none there.. and actually I think that's better anyway). Gas heat worked well. I'm out of room! I could go on.."

  • Large, lakefront cabin with beautiful surroundings

"Leslie's Landing was just as advertised and we had a very nice weekend. There was plenty of space for 12 people + 1 baby. We enjoyed the dock and use of the canoe and firepit."
