  • Absolutely beautiful.

"The owners of this property really have spared no detail. The cabin is warm and inviting, landscape is perfect and apparently ever-blooming, and the location serene and secluded. Bring some hiking shoes and prepare to be off the grid. Can't wait to go back and stay longer."

  • Amazing home for great vacation

"This home is in an amazing location with incredible mountain views. It is beautiful, fully furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked and the whole place has a nice homey feel. It is very clean and a great place for a rustic getaway or a central location for hiking and exploring nature on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains State Park. I loved every minute of my time here!"

  • Purple and Gold

"We stayed at Bare Necessities the weekend of our son's graduation from Western Carolina University. The purple and gold colors of WCU were on display on campus and at sunset from the deck of Bare Necessities. You cannot capture the long-range views in a photo. We could still see the snow atop Clingman's Dome over 30 miles away. The hot tub was a welcome retreat after a couple of busy days packing up a moving van and attending the graduation festivities. The cabin comfortably slept 5 adults with an air mattress we took with us. The upstairs shower had a tough time keeping water pressure when someone was in the shower downstairs but we just staggered our bathroom visits to accommodate. There are so many outdoor activities in the surrounding area but my favorite was driving up Barker's Creek Rd, turning onto Beech Tree Rd and driving until it turns into a National Forestry dirt road. This drive is quintessential Western Carolina with family farms, mountain views and beautiful creeks. We fished for native trout in the middle fork of Barker's Creek and hardly noticed the hour that waned away in the middle of a hectic weekend. We can't wait to return in the fall."

  • Karen and Ronnie

"Beautiful home and surroundings. This was one of the cleanest vacation homes we have had the pleasure to spend time in. The grandkids loved the stream and the large yard. We loved the peaceful setting on the screen porch. The view was awesome. Close to all amenities. The welcome gift was very much appreciated. We were able to enjoy the white water rafting, got to visit Cherokee County, did a little panning for gems. We want to thank you so much for the opportunity to make some great memories. We very much hope to come back soon."
