  • Lovely home with attentive owners

"Beautiful property. We really enjoyed our time at this well appointed home. We were not lacking a thing. The owners were wonderful to work with. After a long day of hiking, we came home to no air conditioning. Lorin was quick to resolve the problem. He really cares that his property is well maintained. We had a wonderful time with many fun adventures. Highly recommend renting this beautiful home."

  • House was very appealing at first sight. Driveway is steep, but well worth the spin.

"We were here for my birthday and annual brother/sister gathering. House was great for family bonding. Was labeled well for convenience of knowing what switch did what. Would definitely recommend this property for anyone wanting to bond. Love this area of Gods country!!!"

  • Purple and Gold

"We stayed at Bare Necessities the weekend of our son's graduation from Western Carolina University. The purple and gold colors of WCU were on display on campus and at sunset from the deck of Bare Necessities. You cannot capture the long-range views in a photo. We could still see the snow atop Clingman's Dome over 30 miles away. The hot tub was a welcome retreat after a couple of busy days packing up a moving van and attending the graduation festivities. The cabin comfortably slept 5 adults with an air mattress we took with us. The upstairs shower had a tough time keeping water pressure when someone was in the shower downstairs but we just staggered our bathroom visits to accommodate. There are so many outdoor activities in the surrounding area but my favorite was driving up Barker's Creek Rd, turning onto Beech Tree Rd and driving until it turns into a National Forestry dirt road. This drive is quintessential Western Carolina with family farms, mountain views and beautiful creeks. We fished for native trout in the middle fork of Barker's Creek and hardly noticed the hour that waned away in the middle of a hectic weekend. We can't wait to return in the fall."

  • Wonderful cabin

"We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The setting is gorgeous, so peaceful and comfortable. Absolutely everything you need for a perfect stay is there. No dragging towels, bedding etc. Here. Just pick up a few supplies, drive to the cabin and enjoy. Loved the sound of the stream right outside the back porch. All in all a great place."
