  • Our Wedding Home

"My husband and I rented Maplewood for 5 of us to stay in for the week of our son's wedding. (Our grand dog joined us towards the end of the week.) The house was so comfortable that we felt like we were at home. We loved the porch and started and ended many of our days there. It's like you are in a tree house up in the high branches of the surrounding trees. I enjoyed cooking several nights in the well equipped Kitchen. The weather was lovely and we had windows and doors open to enjoy the breeze. We love Highlands and Maplewood and can't wait to return."

  • Amazing Views and Location

"My wife, three year old daughter and I spent a couple of weekends at Rugby's this spring. We couldn't appreciate his hospitality or home any more. We had everything there in the house we could ask for (gas grill, fully stocked kitchen, fireplace, new LCD TV's for night, and last but not least amazing views). The location is perfect for anyone who wants to be minutes from downtown Cashiers, but also close to some of the best hiking in the area in Panthertown. We can't wait to go back!"

  • Nice spot for the price

"This location is about as good as you'll ever find if you like the river and being close to the towns and attractions in the area. This property is nicely secluded and has a very long river-frontage that allows a nice walk and plenty of fish-able spots from the bank. We even saw some of the local wildlife throughout our stay. It's only 15 to 20 minutes up to Cherokee and great streams. About the same to Sylva and further south; pretty close to Waynesville as well. It's a bit small, but still a great value at the $132 per night. Sadly, after adding in all the fees and taxes, the 2-night price almost doubled the cost for our stay. I guess the motto here is..... just to stay longer. Hot tub was in great shape, great decks overlooking the river, and beds were good as well. Kitchen is small but adequate - no dishwasher except the manual kind. And no doubt, it is a real mountain cabin with easy access to the main road and local spots. Our cell-service was actually good enough to send & receive texts with no problem - AT&T."
