  • Cozy family get away

"Great days in Highlands followed by awesome accommodations at Highlands Hideaway. We hung out in the family room with the kids at game table and the adults enjoying wine by the fire. The kitchen was great too! We been booked for next year :)"

  • Lovely Cabin, Delightful stay!

"Our recent stay/experience at this Mirror Lake area cabin was just perfect! This year we chose to spend the Thanksgiving holiday week in the mountains to get away from the city and too much cooking! It was a great decision. From the initial booking to the return of the deposit check the owner was very prompt and quite responsive to any questions that we had. The cabin was exactly as described and portrayed in the photos and actually exceeded our expectations. It is tucked away in the trees, very secluded, yet conveniently located to the charming town of Highlands. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving day meal at "On the Verandah", which is just down the road. As others have stated...We WILL be back!"

  • Peaceful, Enchanting Vacation

"In an area of the country rife with log cabins that all look the same, this cottage was a breath of fresh air. Tucked just up a little mountain road in Highlands, it was even better than the photos. The quirky little place was impeccably clean, well-stocked and well-maintained. And June is great to work with—very accommodating and responsive. But the biggest draw of the cottage is the way the light plays throughout the rooms. Sunlight gently spills into the master bedroom in the morning. Warm up in the afternoon dappled sunlight of the music room. We had a wonderful time here, filled with fires, coffee, books and music. We enjoyed the cozy, private feel even though the property is on a street with other houses. The area is beautiful, and the home is convenient to everything. We also made friends with the squirrel on the back deck and the albino chipmunk who lives somewhere out front. Head into town for local coffee at Buck's or Mountain Fresh Grocery. We also loved some of the out-of-the-way places like Fressers Eatery. The last night we were there, we hiked up to Sunset Rock, which is definitely worth the view. Can't wait to come back here."
