"We were so lucky to have found this cabin for our first trip to the highlands. It is absolutely beautiful! You can't go wrong with this one!"

  • High Praise for High Cotton

"We had the best time this past weekend and staying at the cottage in High Cotton was the perfect spot. We've been to Highlands many times and this house fit our needs 100%. It was so very clean and comfortable. Dinners at the Ugly Dog Public House on Friday and Wild Thyme Gourmet on Saturday were the best. Thanks so much, Garrard & family-we will plan to be back again!"

  • Rustic luxury and relaxation!

"Because I'd love to keep this property a secret, I almost hate to leave an honest review. We have had an amazing two weeks--a reprieve from hectic schedules and concrete. The photos do not do the home's decor and superior construction justice. The light and views are amazing. This property has the best appointed kitchen we've ever used in 7+ rentals in Highlands. The rushing creek is amazing for exploration and for sonic ambiance. We loved hot tub soaks--especially for our daughter with juvenile arthritis. Our pup loved spending her holiday with us, and we appreciated having a dog friendly rental that was really nice. We can't wait to return next summer! A few logistical notes: It's about a 20-25 minute drive to downtown Highlands which simply means we planned our outings carefully. The internet access is wonderful and fast, so we didn't miss having cable tv. Our kids watched dvds and I watched a couple of streaming films on Netflix. Bring a lightning cord or hd cord, and you can stream movies or series to the flat screen in the loft."

  • Billye

"So glad I splurged for the house since I fractured my foot the day before our hiking trip! I had a lovely stay... we entertained our local friends for dinner and enjoyed the porch and the wonderful green space around the house. I especially (being home-bound) enjoyed the library of books (and the magazine I accidentally had to send back) and the organized manner of the kitchen. My favorite is hearing the hymns from the church bells in town and the spontaneous drop-in of cute neighbors. The commaradarie of Highlands is dear."
