  • Perfect Getaway

"We spent 5 nights in the Moondance cabin for our anniversary and it was perfect. The cabin was very cozy, clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. Our favorite thing to do was sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch and listen to the creek right off the porch. It was a perfect combination of relaxing and energizing in one trip. We had no cell service anywhere in the area (including in Hot Springs) thanks to AT&T, however, having the Wifi at the cabin helped my husband keep up with his work emails. Tom and Rebecca provided excellent detailed maps for the many hiking trails, both on and off their property. The Appalachian Trail is accessible to hike to from the cabin. We went white water rafting with Hot Springs Rafting Company in town and they were great too! Everyone we came into contact with made us feel very welcome. I can not say enough good things about this cabin, the owners, and the area. Thanks for the wonderful memories!!"

  • Lovely get away for family and friends

"Viking Mountain Lodge offers a welcoming cabin, lots of spaces to sit and visit, play games and enjoy a warm summer rain. The cozy bedrooms are ideal for mid day naps and restful nights. The open kitchen has everything you need to cook and entertain. The cabin and grounds are well taken care of and it's obvious that this is a special space for Alan and his family. If you visit, be sure to enjoy Alan's wonderful coffee table book that includes lots of history and practical information about the place and the area. The fire pit is ideal for SomeMores and the stream is a great place for wading. We enjoyed the open windows - ideal for sleeping and coffee on the porch. The instructions are most helpful and make checking out easy. If you are looking for a lovely get away that offers peace and quiet and a home that has "just what you need" Viking Mountain Lodge is ideal."

  • Quiet GetAway!

"What a beauty! Great area to roam without any interruptions! Even though we had three young kids, it had an enjoyable atmosphere. If you plan to stay in the cabin for lengthy periods, make sure you bring a few things to do: board games, DVDs, radio. No cell service or wifi was wonderful, but we ended up venturing out to towns more than I wanted due to some rambunctious kids (4, 2, and 8months) that wanted to climb the stairs every five minutes! (and sturdy stairs too!) I loved this place and may try to enjoy it again once hubby and I have some alone time! (Or when the kids get a bit older!) We did enjoy beautiful walks every morning, and learned about so many colors in the wilderness! Thank you for a wonderful, clean, beautiful, and restful place to call home for a few nights! The kids were able to help their dad make cupcakes for their moms birthday! It was a very special trip!"
