  • Relaxing, comfy cabin!

"We loved our stay in your relaxing, comfortable little cabin. We rented the 1 bedroom for 3 nights in Sept. We found it easily, with the directions provided. It was very conveniently located between Cherokee & Asheville. .We did wonder how you would drive up the steep road in the winter if there was ice. That would be an adventure! We found it to be just like the pictures depicted. The bed was comfortable. The small kitchen was adequate. The living room was pleasant with a TV and there was Wifi. It was wonderful to sit out on the deck with the beautiful view of the mountains. The goats outside came over to greet us & ask for a scratch on the head. It was not close to restaurants which was fine. But you might want to plan around that, if you don't want to go back out at night. We ate at The Sweet Onion one night, which was excellent & the Brewery (can't remember the name) the other night, which was also excellent, both in Waynesville. We went to the Biltmore Estate one day & ate at the new Sierra Nevada Brewery, southwest of the city. They are both worth a visit. We so enjoyed coming home to our little cabin , quiet & away from everything. We passed by all the other hotel, motels, etc. & were so glad we weren't staying there. It had everything we needed, except for maybe some paper towels & kleenex. Those two things are harder to supply yourself when you're traveling, especially if flying. You don't really want to buy a whole roll of paper towels for a few days.. So, for the person that likes the quiet, private, out of the way cabin, we highly recommend staying here."

  • Enjoyable weekend ski trip

"My husband and I went with a few friends for a weekend getaway to ski at cataloochee ski resort. We all had a really great time. The house can easily sleep 12 people, however there is only room for 3 cars. The road to the house is a one lane road up the mountain. Which was not a problem for us, but I would recommend having a truck or 4 wheel drive if weather may be icy or if it snows. The house was amazing. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with. The only thing I would recommend is maybe a new grill and fix the shower handles. When we opened the grill we were in amazement of how bad of shape it was in. It was very rusted and dirty along with the top rack broken. We had to lay tinfoil down to use it. The shower handles in two of the bathrooms did not stay on, they would fall off when you turned the water on. The rules of the house were very well accepted, but it is requested of you to take your trash bags with you to the dump. This would have been okay, however the dump is closed 3 days out the week. We left on sunday (which is one of the days it's closed) therefore we had to ride back home with trash bags. I do feel that paying for a cleaning fee the trash should be taken care of by the cleaning crew. However with only these few minor things I would definetly still return again. It was a very enjoyable weekend for us."

  • 5 Stars across the board*****

"We had a group of ten people and three vehicles to access the property. The first vehicle arrived during day light hours and found it a challenge coming up the mountain with the larger SUV. The other two vehicles were a little smaller but we came up in the dark. With the direction of the first driver and the directions on our rental agreement we came up without a problem. After a day or so it was no problem. (IE..roller coaster ride) 😃The property was a piece of paradise! We had a small issue with water pressure on the first day but Greg came to the rescue! We all hated to leave by the end of our stay. We would definitely come again and we highly recommend the Lazy bear cabin!"

  • Absolutely stunning

"This is our second stay at this home. Mr. Dobson spent time teaching our kids how to make bamboo fishing poles and and feeding the animals. This is by far our favorite vacation spot! You will not find a better place or host! We will be back soon! Findeisens"
