  • Fall Stay at Bear Paw

"We thought Cozy Bear Paw Cottage was great! We were looking for a value-oriented scenic retreat for a Thanksgiving weekend, and that's exactly what we got. The location was great, nestled among a street of small cabins once used to house the workforce that constructed the nearby Hiwassee Dam. Located just a mile away, the dam itself was really picturesque. (there are views from both the top and bottom). The cabin itself was great - very clean, very simple, and somewhat rustic. Big enough so that we weren't knocking into each other, yet small enough for a cozy weekend. The kitchen is fabulous - it's got every untensil (except a toaster), and the appliances are better than those in our apartment. We used the charcoal grill outside every night, and not just for burgers and dogs - we were even able to cook up some nice ribs. The couch was comfortable, the shower ran hot, the DirectTV never went out, and we were able to get a great night's sleep in the comfortable bed. Everything was perfect. I would keep in mind that it does have A/C (window units in the bedrooms), and utilizes a gas heater in the living room. In fact, the *only* issue we had was with the gas heater - and it was quickly fixed by the proprietor - no problem what-so-ever. We could not get the heater to stay lit, as the gas was turned off at the main valve. No problem, even though it was a holiday, the proprietor came over and fixed the situation for us very quickly - as I said, no problem what-so-ever. After that, the heater was easy to light and use, and was plenty warm enough. Speaking of the proprietors, they were great. They were very friendly, were very responsive to the couple questions we had before hand, promptly fixed the one issue we hand, are were very easy to do business with overall. I would definitely recommend renting from them, no problem. This cottage exceeded our expectations."

  • A great vacation/get-a-way spot.

"Windy Ridge Chalet is everything as advertised. It is clean, comfortable and well maintained. It has a great location close to the old towns of Murphy, NC and Blue Ridge, GA. which has great shops and restaurants. The Chalet sits on the edge of a mountain ridge with spectacular views. It's quiet and relaxing, a great place to stay."

  • WOW!!! What a place for a vacation.

"The cabin was even better than we had expected!! We couldn't say enough about how spacious and beautiful the cabin is and enjoyed the layout. We were traveling to take part in MINI's on the Dragon and it was great to have a place to park our vehicles at night. We enjoyed being able to grill on the deck and the views are spectacular. This has to be one of the best accommodations that we have ever encountered on our trips to the Smokies. The cabin is centrally located for white water rafting and plenty of great roads to drive on, and we certainly took advantage of that. Can't say thank you enough for this wonderful place, and we are looking forward to being able to take advantage of it again in the near future."

  • Peaceful Getaway

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was beautiful and cozy. The running stream is amazing and adds to the serenity of the location. We had a wonderful stay. The only problem was we didnt stay longer! Not too far from town which has some nice restaurants, cool brewery/pizza place, and a great art gallery. Would definitely stay again or recommend to friends."
