  • Slice of Heaven

    Joye S.

"More beautiful than photos; real craftsmanship and unique. Secluded but close to hiking trails, waterfalls, historic towns, John C. Campbell Folk School, arts and crafts galleries, antique shops, etc. I especially loved the porch with the swing and big rocking chair. Great place to read with cup of tea. I had most of my meals on the porch. Description of amenities as listed; more than adequate. Cannot say enough about the owners --very welcoming and wanted us to be comfortable and feel at home. We did. Would love to be there during the fall; sure the mountains are beautiful."

  • 40th Honeymoon

    Bill S.

"We just spent a terrific week at Narnia. It was all we had hoped for--- quiet, comfortable and relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the upper deck just watching the scenery change. We were treated to a rainbow over the mountains on our last evening there. Our favorite time was just before dawn listening to the birds and waiting for another beautiful sunrise. We also enjoyed exploring Murphy and Blairsville or just riding the nearby mountain roads. It was a great week! Thanks, Susie!"

  • Nice stay. great for dogs. Little dated. Will return.

    Jill H.

"I went up to beautiful Lake Nantahala for four days with my husband, son, and his friend. I wish that I would have brought my two little dogs. It is the perfect place for dogs. There is little traffic as it is nestled away on an almost private road. The location is convenient as it is close to the Lake's-End marina and restaurant. It sleeps about 12, including two sofas. The bed and bath are upstairs. The kitchen and half bath is downstairs. There is one working fireplace downstairs, and they provide the wood. We loved this. There are no decks, but there are large picture windows and a patio. It would be great if there was some vista pruning, but one can still see the lake pretty well. The place is clean but has a slight mildew odor in the upstairs area. There is no dishwasher and no wifi. Cell service was also not existent for our carrier. The neighbors oversee the place and are wonderful. They answered our questions and made sure that we had everything that we needed. They also rent their pontoon boat for a great price. It is a bit dated, but they are refurbishing it soon. It is a great deal at 165.00 per day plus paying for gas. We took the boat out and toured the entire lake. The boat owners are flexible and knowledgeable about the area. The dock is also a bit dated, but the owners are getting a new one soon. Two canoes, a flat bottom boat, a grill, all cooking utensils, etc. are included. Also, bedding, bath and beach towels are provided. This place provided a nice unplugged weekend. It was only 17 miles to Franklin, NC, where we ate at the food truck and tested samples at the Loafing Hiker Brewery, and 15 or so miles to Anderson. There is hiking everywhere. We spent most of the time pontooning and kayaking on our own kayaks. The marina rents paddle boards, kayaks, etc.. We will return."

  • Great getaway!

    Craig W.

"If you want to "get away from it all", this is your place. Just an awesome place that was great for the family, plenty of room for the kids, they spent many hours in the creek. Would recommend to anyone. Hayesville is centrally located to make a lot of day trips. You will relax on this back porch I gaurentee it!"
