  • Outstanding!

"We just returned from our stay at Katie Camp, and this was by far, the very best VRBO property I have ever found. The house, the property (right on the lake), the furnishings - everything was absolutely top notch. No attention to detail was spared and everyone in our group (5 couples) was very comfortable and extremely happy with our time here. This is not your average vacation rental - it's more like being invited to a friend's gorgeous vacation home! The décor is beautiful and the property, both inside and out, is incredibly well maintained. The home is right on the lake and we enjoyed the beautiful view from inside the house and outside on the great porches. The house was spotless - linens, towels, all bedding was very good quality and clean and fresh. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could need or want. Appliances and dishware are all in great condition and the kitchen is set up to cook and serve a group with ease. This is a large and spacious house with plenty of room for everyone to be together or to have privacy if desired. There are 2 living areas - one upstairs and one downstairs, as well as plenty of spaces outdoors that make for an abundance of places to relax and enjoy the scenery. The owner had great communication prior to our booking the property and she sent a nice package with brochures and maps and details about the area which was very much appreciated. It was a perfect home for our group and I would highly recommend Katie Camp! We absolutely loved it!"

  • Peaceful stay in the mountains

"We were looking for a place to stay with a view and that we could bring our dog to. This place was perfect and definitely exceeded our expectations! It's definitely private and secluded which we loved. The kitchen was fully stocked with absolutely everything you could need. The closets included extra pillows, games, and movies. In the backyard is a shed with plenty of chopped wood if you need a couple logs for the fire pit. There is also a large hammock to relax on. One of the best features of this house for us was the large front porch. It has a gate so that you can sit out there at night watching the sunset and not worry about your dog getting loose. Walking through a path off of the yard takes you immediately to the entrance of Panthertown Valley. I highly suggest printing off a trail map ahead of time. We spent time exploring different overlooks and Granny Burrell falls which is a must see. My daughter was the only brave one of the bunch to slide down the rock slide. Another day we drove about an hour and 15 minutes to Cherokee, NC to shop and have a nice dinner. For the photographers out there like me, this place did not disappoint. The view from the porch was beautiful but the trail had amazing views as well as wild flowers and creeks. This place is quant and definitely well maintained and it shows that the owners take good care of it. We definitely plan to return and without a doubt will stay in Cat's Eye again and explore more of the trails in Panthertown Valley. Thank you for a much needed peaceful retreat for our family!"

  • Late summer vacation

"We recently spent nearly 2 weeks at this lovely lakeside property. Easily accommodated 6 adults. We enjoyed grilling out and eating and relaxing on the large covered back porch. Lots of nearby shopping and scenic sights to experience. The back porch setting is elevated like being in a treehouse - lovely and serene. No bear sightings, but lots of hummingbirds in the trees. Great location for some mountain R & R!"

  • Cozy cabin in a serene location with breathtaking views

"The cabin itself is cozy and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen, and a large open living and dining space. It was perfect for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving together. The location is spectacular with its expansive view of Lake Glenville from a beautiful deck. There's also a dock right on the lake where even in late November we enjoyed sitting in the sun. A wonderful house in a wonderful place!"
