  • Rustic & Cozy

"We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is located in the hills near Lake Glenville. The cabin stocked with books, games and a fabulous rope swing. The cabin activites provided fun down time for our family between our hiking, white water rafting and boating excursions around the Cashiers area."

  • Perfect Holiday Location

"Mike & Mark, Thank you so much for sharing your family home with my family. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday we will remember always. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of room for us to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for 20 (even though there were only 8 of us). There was plenty of space for all of us to eat together, noone had to sit at the kids table....well, I guess all of us were at the kids table, young and old! The bedrooms were so spacious and the beds, linens and pillows begged us to sleep in. I'm thankful we didn't as we might have missed watching a doe swim across the brisk water of the lake our first morning at the cabin. I will try to send the video as it was amazing for all of us to witness. We are nature lovers so we took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather with all the outdoor activities tour cabin has to offer. While the fellows kayaked, us chicks enjoyed walking the shoreline, identifying wildlife tracks in the sand and banking in the sunlight in your wide choices of outdoor seating areas. My brother's 16 year old triplets really enjoyed the holiday! They had the downstairs to themselves, cooked breakfast every morning, and enjoyed spending time as a family in the spacious living room. Thank you for making sure we had all the necessities for cooking Thanksgiving dinner and for making sure we felt at home. We truly look forward to seeing you again this Spring/Fall!"

  • Arguably The Most Beautiful Setting In All of Cashiers / Highlands

""Beautiful waterfall location" is an understatement and the pictures in this listing DO NOT do this property justice. We've been traveling to the Cashiers / Highlands area for over eight years and David's property is by far one of (if not THE) most beautiful places in the region. A few key benefits: 1. There's a large carport for two cars at the top of the driveway. 2. There are FOUR decks, one of which sits DIRECTLY over the waterfall. We LOVED having our morning coffee on this deck. 3. You can actually LIGHT-UP the waterfall at night using a remote control. 4. The bedding is extremely comfortable and the space is adorned with cool lighting fixtures. 5. The landscaping is lush and enchanting. There are stone walking paths all throughout and direct access to the waterfall. Best of all, David is very communicative and extremely responsive. The checkin / out were seamless."

  • If you come for the views, you won't be disappointed . Very peaceful!

"The pics are just as described but there's no doing it justice unless you're actually in person. The surrounding property has them all with multiple firepits on the property to accompany the views. We took our 3 girls and my parents for a family getaway. Even brought their tiny little puppy last min due to a last min change of plan. You are 15 min from Ingles grocery store & about a 30 min drive to The Highlands from the property. Keep in mind, even driving a mile on this terrain takes much longer because of all the hairpin turns. The trip would have been perfect with the exception of a few things... Had some issues with the ice maker dispensing ice. No biggy. Dishwasher also wouldn't shut properly for whatever reason. And we had to have the property mgr come to the house to show us how to work the fireplace on the deck (no directions). He left with the assumption it wasn't working since he had started it many times before. But later on during that evening, I finally got it to work. That would have been a major disappointment as it was a huge selling point and boy did we use it. One thing that the owner doesn't tell you until last minute is that the trash compactor where you will have to take all your trash is NOT CLOSE. In fact it's a good 20 minute drive to dump trash! We asked the property manager if we could just leave our trash at the house since guests were arriving the same day and maid service would promptly be there at 10am. He said it was fine. But I was very surprised after we left, the owner messaged me and said she was charging me $50 for leaving trash bags by the door, even after communicating that. Mind you, there is a $200 maid service charge built in to the price of your stay which really takes the advertised "per night" costs up; in our case approx an extra $65 per night.. Maid service charge is a flat charge regardless of days and pet fee ($150) is a flat charge regardless of size or number of days. She made a concession for our 11lb min schnauzer and only charged us $100 or ($33 per night) which is still very steep. Seems unreasonable the price would be the same for a 100 lb dog vs a 11 lb dog. They are big dog owners themselves and the area is extremely pet friendly so that was a bit of a disappointment. Both those fees left a sour taste in our mouths BUT I digress; if you came for the views and a beautiful home, you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to communicate everything with owner as she is all business."
