  • Fabulous Place for a Family Retreat

"This was our second visit to Hooked by the View (the first coming a few years back). The place is in fabulous shape, and the new fire pit on the lower deck is ideal for relaxing in the evening. Our group included folks from ages 8 to 73, and everyone found exactly what they were looking for. Dwight takes great care of the place, and is very accommodating and helpful. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend a week on Nantahala Lake, you won't do any better than Hooked by the View!"

  • Suzanne S. - Misty Laurel was wonderful!!!

"My family had a wonderful six days at this beautiful cabin 3600 feet up on the mountain overlooking Lake Nantahala!! The cabin is decorated in a warm and inviting fashion. Everything is perfectly clean and orderly. The kitchen had everything you need. Just a lovely place to stay. The views off the deck are amazing. We went white water rafting on the Nantahala River and gem mining and we visited the Smoky Mountains several times. We walked up Clingman's Dome and visited the Little Greenbrier School. On the way home we visited the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. We visited Cherokee, North Carolina and the Museum of the Cherokee Indians. There were many, many other things to do that we didn't get to. We had an absolutely wonderful time and the cabin and its owners, Pat and Jo, were tremendously helpful and kind! Highly recommend this cabin for anyone with a family or anyone wanting a peaceful, tranquil and cozy place to stay."
