  • Perfect Spot for Celebratory Weekend

"Winters Haven was exactly what we were looking for our weekend. We had a very large group but the house still was able to sleep everyone comfortably and provide plenty of room for everyone to hang out. It is also only a 15 minute Uber ride into town, easily findable for drivers, great location. The game room was awesome and provide endless amounts of entertainment. Great porch, grill to cookout and huge kitchen to prepare meals. The hot tub felt great but we were too busy to even utilize it enough! Also had plenty of CDs, DVDs, game boards. I highly recommend Winters Haven for anyone looking to entertain a big group for a weekend. I really have no complaints and will definitely stay there again if I had to Asheville anytime soon!"

  • Great Family Reunion Set Up

"We had a mini family reunion in the mountains. My wife and I with our son, daughter-in-law, daughter and two grandchildren. The house was perfect for us. Our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren took the downstairs and were able to spread out in their own apartment. My wife and I had the master suite and daughter took the other main floor bedroom. The loft was not used by us but could have easily accommodated another couple. The location is ideal, 1/2 way between Highlands and Cashiers. We spent time in both towns and spent money shopping in both towns. Plenty of neat shops particularly on Main Street in Highlands. We took the grands trout fishing down in Scaly Mountain and hit all the waterfall viewing spots nearby. We did hike up Whiteside which you need to be in shape for. It is about a mile one way with about 800 feet of elevation change, but worth the effort for the view of the continental divide. Food shopping is easy with Bryson's in Highlands and Ingles in Cashiers. We found Dusty's Meat market on the Dillard Road coming out of Highlands. He cut some beautiful filets which we did on the grill. We ate several breakfast/lunch meals at the Fresh Market in Highlands and got great food, it is semi self service though. Of course we found Kilwins for the grandkids (ha! Grandpa's favorite). It was our ideal getaway. Family retreat. Four couples can easily stay here. If you visit you will enjoy the place. We will be back!"

  • An amazing place for an amazing vacation

"Just got home a few days ago from a week at your beautiful home. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. This home is everything a large family (or 2) could want in a place to stay in Western North Carolina. Between the Apple Tree in the backyard, the 5 horses just behind, fireflies at night for the kids to chase, cows (and I'm pretty sure a black bear) seen far in the distance from the back deck, the home alone is perfect for a getaway. The 8 of us (4 adults, 4 kids) were able to take advantage of everything this home had to offer, including great nights grilling on the back deck before finishing the night with a bottle of wine and some good music sitting on rocking chairs outside staring up at the stars (no light pollution out here!). And convenient to pretty much everything we wanted to do, from seeing the Biltmore mansion, to Pisgah Forest (and the Great Sliding Rock), Cherokee, Maggy Valley, etc. We've never been to North Carolina and this was kind of an "impulse buy" vacation but it was so worth it! We can't wait to come back again soon. Great owner, so accessible, anyone that is thinking of Western North Carolina should spend time at this home (except when we want to stay there again!). Thank you thank you!"

  • Amazingly surprised by the extraordinary view and seclusion. And very pleased w/ cleanliness.

"During our stay we most enjoyed the extraordinary view the overall cleanliness of the cabin and hot tub. And also enjoyed the safety of the gated drive. The cabin was very secluded with a very nice sense of privacy. Will definitely be returning for another visit."
