  • Quiet

"Cute cabin located in the mountains, but a short drive to east Asheville. Close to antique stores, mall shopping, hiking, a nature center, the VA and also to Black Mountain, which is a nice little town with small shops. People are very friendly and helpful. View from the cabin was nice, since leaves were off the trees, so I could see the mountains. However, there is a house near by that I could see from the hot tub and the living room. So it's not as secluded and private as I expected. The road was bumpy and narrow, but perfectly fine for cars. I would recommend this for anyone that wants to be 'away from it all' but close to activities. Great location for that."

  • Great Family Reunion Set Up

"We had a mini family reunion in the mountains. My wife and I with our son, daughter-in-law, daughter and two grandchildren. The house was perfect for us. Our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren took the downstairs and were able to spread out in their own apartment. My wife and I had the master suite and daughter took the other main floor bedroom. The loft was not used by us but could have easily accommodated another couple. The location is ideal, 1/2 way between Highlands and Cashiers. We spent time in both towns and spent money shopping in both towns. Plenty of neat shops particularly on Main Street in Highlands. We took the grands trout fishing down in Scaly Mountain and hit all the waterfall viewing spots nearby. We did hike up Whiteside which you need to be in shape for. It is about a mile one way with about 800 feet of elevation change, but worth the effort for the view of the continental divide. Food shopping is easy with Bryson's in Highlands and Ingles in Cashiers. We found Dusty's Meat market on the Dillard Road coming out of Highlands. He cut some beautiful filets which we did on the grill. We ate several breakfast/lunch meals at the Fresh Market in Highlands and got great food, it is semi self service though. Of course we found Kilwins for the grandkids (ha! Grandpa's favorite). It was our ideal getaway. Family retreat. Four couples can easily stay here. If you visit you will enjoy the place. We will be back!"

  • Fantastic!!

"The boat was great and we were able to enjoy it all but 2 days. One day of rain and the other we just decided to stay in and enjoy the rec room downstairs. I even sat in the room off of the game room and read with my coffee one morning. So we enjoyed it ALL!!! We kayaked and had a fire out back, sat in the hot tub and the theater room was …. WOW!! My favorite things was to come in from a fun day on the lake, shower, get snacks and head downstairs to watch movies after a wonderful dinner on the grill. Oh and the ice maker ‘Brilliant’."
