  • The Catatoga Lodge, a large three story home perfect for our large multigenerational family

"We were fortunate to be able to stay at the Lodge for a week in mid-July, 2016. It was everything we had hoped it would be and more. It is a beautiful home and very well constructed. The six bedrooms and six bathrooms worked out very well for our three-generational family vacation. We loved the great room which was large enough to support many different activities such as reading, working puzzles, playing card games etc. The downstairs porch was where the adults would gather in the early mornings to look out at the pond and visit while the youngsters were asleep. The kitchen is large and very functional. We also made use of the extra refrigerator in the back hallway. During the day we enjoyed canoeing, playing tennis on the four very well-kept soft courts and swimming in the beautiful swimming pool next to the clubhouse. We also took advantage of the many walking paths, especially the one leading to the waterfall. All in all it was a lovely week and we hope to return again in the future."

  • Awesome little secuded in the hills!

"Our family stayed at this cabin this week. When we arrived, the cabin was clean. They provide everything you could possible need, fresh linens, fully stocked kitchen with newer appliances (including a dishwasher), and a mini fridge sink, microwave, and toaster in the downstairs master suite! The beds were VERY COMFORTABLE! They might have been the best beds we have ever slept in away from home! They provide bird food and corn for feeders located around the decks, and it was interesting watching the birds and squirrels in the morning! The cabin is high enough up the hill to feel very private, even though there are other cabins nearby. We could only see one, through the trees below us, and we couldn't see much, just a little light and the color of a car parked there. We brought our motorcycle to take a few rides while we were here. There is enough room to trailer in, as long as your trailer is small, and you can unhook and walk it around to turn around (there isn't quite enough room to turn it around at the cabin). Yes, the road up is steep, and perhaps a little scary the first time, but it's not horrible. I was a little worried about riding the bike down and up the road to the cabin, but my worries were unfounded. I think it was easier than driving the truck up. We only rode a few hundred miles through the mountains (our teenage kids were with us, so we didn't think it fair to leave them for long), but this is some beautiful riding! I can't imagine much prettier except for some of those bucket list place like the Pacific Coast Highway. We were looking for a place, away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but close enough to the Smoky Mountains National Park to make day trips. This location perfectly fit the bill. We took day trips into the park to Cades Cove, Clingmans Dome, and many other parts of the park. We grabbed meals in Townsend, Bryson City, and Cherokee, and was happy with each meal (check tripadvisor for the highest ranked places). We also prepared several meals in the cabin, especially breakfasts, but also used the provided grill to prepare steaks and burgers! If were return to the Smokies, we would definitely book this place again."

  • Did not want to leave!

"I, my husband, and two friends rented the Pine Ridge Chalet from April 1 to the 4th. We had an amazing stay. The cabin was clean and very cozy. Two of the rooms were huge and could possibly hold more people if needed. The upstairs had a loft area with a futon, a closed room with a king size bed and ample room, and a small bathroom with a toilet and tub and sink. One of the downstairs room had a door leading out to the porch where you can sit on a swing and listen to the creek. The kitchen was small but we only used it for breakfast and managed nicely. Most of our time was spent outside. We were able to build a nice fire and roast some hotdogs and marshmallows. You are able to see the Hilltop Cabin, but it didn't bother us at all. It was extremely quiet and felt like we were the only ones on the mountain. The area was extremely peaceful and none of us wanted to leave. We felt like three nights was just enough time to get into the groove of things and wished we stayed for a week. If you are looking for a getaway, this is definitely the place to be. A couple of things I do want to mention. When we were looking at the reviews, all we saw were people worried about driving over the creek. We brought up my small car to save on gas. It's a Sonic Turbo LTZ. The creek was not the problem at all. When you hit the fork between Pine Ridge and Hilltop, things get a little bumpy and steep. There's a sign that says to maintain 12mph till the top. If you maintain that, you shouldn't have a problem but I would definitely recommend taking a V6 or 4WD. We plan on bringing my husband's jeep or our friend's truck the next time we come. Overall, I highly recommend this cabin. It's in the perfect location as it's very close to different sights and the town. The feel of the cabin location is priceless. You instantly become peaceful and forget your busy life. We all want to come back and stay longer."

  • Excellent floor plan and great amenities

"From the moment you arrive you can tell that this is an inviting home that will feel like...home. Use of the double garage, fenced yard so dogs can be let out, a floor plan that allows guests privacy, three separate porches to enjoy, fully stocked kitchen, full size washer and dryer, board games, books, darts, and more. Driving directions were accurate, inside and outside were clean, great porch furniture, all lights worked, I emailed questions to the owner who answered them promptly, and we (wife, 2 daughters, son-in-law, and grandson) agreed this was the best cabin we've ever rented. We visited Dupont State Recreational Park and Pisgah National Forest, Triple Falls, High Falls, Looking Glass Falls, and Sliding Rock. Only ate in Brevard at 3 excellent places: Rocky's Grill and Soda Shop, Mayberry's Soup and Sandwiches, and Pescado’s Burritos."
