  • Wonderful cabin, beautiful river, great location!

"This cabin is even better than advertised; the pictures do not do it justice! The cabin itself is beautiful and has everything you could need including a fully-outfitted kitchen, tv with Directv and super comfy bed and couches. We loved grilling out and then eating on the screened porch where we could see and hear the river. Also, it was invaluable to us that we were able to bring our dog. This is such a great feature for those of us who consider our dogs family. She had the best time playing in the river and sunning herself on the beach. (So did we!) The street is very quiet and private but it's only a few minutes from downtown Murphy with its restaurants and antique stores. Such a cute little town; we visited the brewery twice. There's an Ingles and a Walmart close by too for any grocery needs. Also, everyone in town was so nice and friendly and helpful. This includes George; he was wonderful. He made sure that we had everything we needed and gave some great suggestions on things to do and places to eat and made sure that we knew he was available if we needed anything... but then gave us our space to relax and enjoy our vacation. We fell in love with Murphy and with the cabin and plan to definitely return soon. You will not be disappointed if you book this! Highly recommend!"

  • 40th Honeymoon

"We just spent a terrific week at Narnia. It was all we had hoped for--- quiet, comfortable and relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the upper deck just watching the scenery change. We were treated to a rainbow over the mountains on our last evening there. Our favorite time was just before dawn listening to the birds and waiting for another beautiful sunrise. We also enjoyed exploring Murphy and Blairsville or just riding the nearby mountain roads. It was a great week! Thanks, Susie!"

  • Beautiful views of Hiwassee lake, cozy yet very roomy. Very homey.

"Felt like home, but with a stunning view, lovely screened in porch (dined there every night), close enough to quaint town of Murphy, but not too close. Lots of bedrooms with comfy beds, modern appliances and fully equipped kitchen and laundry. Host was very accommodating. We couldn't get the furnace to work and they sent repair man immediately. If you like blue Grass, head on down to Haysville to an old gas station. On Friday nights the locals meet there for impromptu jammin' on fiddles, guitars and mandolins. If you would rather watch the boob tube with the mountain views out the window, there is a large screen tv with satellite and Netflix! The marina would have been wonderful but between the drought and the dam lowering there water level, it was very low. They had beautiful pontoons to rent but we didn't want to swim off the boat so passed on it. We found this place on Saturday, the day the Outer Banks Flooded from Hurricane Matthew(which is where we were supposed to go!) We were able to book this mountain haven by 1, and repacked for the mountains to arrive on Sunday. Ellen couldn't have been nicer. Would definitely book again! Btw, if you want to book a place in the Outer Banks, don't book through OBXBlue! Go with Home Away!!"
