"Eagles Nest Hideaway is better than advertised. The view of the distant mountains including Clingman's Dome and Lake Fontana, was fantastic. The cabin has everything, both inside and outside. Outside is the deck with rocking chairs, and a table with an umbrella to keep you in the shade while you look at the great mountain views. The outside also has a fire pit and a great jacuzzi to help you relax after walking trails or white water rafting and zip lining. The cabin inside has big windows to enjoy the views, both downstairs and upstairs. The beds are very comfortable, with quality linens. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The living room has very comfortable furnishing while you watch the big flat screen TV. This was my families first trip to the Bryson City area and at Eagle's Nest Hideaway, but I'm sure it will not be the last."

  • Was not the best of weather; yet the best stay!

"We had a small union of friends planned here for Christmas. We drove from Florida, and some of our friends from up states. It was a wonderful stay here in the Little Home. While the forest had lost their leaves, but managed to keep its charm. It was rainy during our stay there, and boy were we glad we got this cabin. It was just so nice and cozy, with a rivers and creeks around it! Millie and Jack are wonderful hosts too. They had home-made cookies waiting for us, and also baked us some Blueberry muffins! How delightful! We did not get to meet Kim, but she checked on us, and made sure we had everything we needed! A wonderful stay, no complaints. End."

  • Basic cabin in perfectly beautiful river location

"5+ stars for the outdoor amenities, 3 stars for the cabin itself. The proximity to the water is unparalleled, spitting distance to the most gorgeous water view (the river splits into three parts right in front of the cabin and the islands in between are also available for exploring by bridge). There is a lovely fire pit (bring a lighter and kindling with you or you won't be able to do anything with the amazing pile of firewood next to it). Lovely nearby hike and a huge field next to the house- perfect for playing sports or spreading out to fish in the river. Best part bar none: rafting on unguided duckies and kayaks and making a pit stop for lunch at our own cabin on the way down the river (and ate said lunch / snack on the porch right on the river). We did it twice and it was seriously awesome. I cannot say enough about the location to the river. Ah-mazing. However, the cabin less so. As lovely as it is to hear the rushing water and see the amazing views, the cabin is also very close to the highway. (The highway sits next to the river the whole way so if you have one you have the other). Traffic can be heard at all times in and around the cabin as well as noise from the camping sites across the street. The bedroom faces the street and can be loud at night between the traffic and the window a/c kicking on and off all night (ear plugs and a box fan helped us out here). The cabin is part of a community with very nice homes (not remote as we thought it would be) and the hiking area, meadow, islands are all shared with the neighbors. The cabin needs a lot of love. It is tidy and reasonably clean but aged. The wifi was our main issue. We had a maximum of 1 bar the whole trip and it dropped every 10-15 mins for an hour or so. We have Verizon and 95% of the times we tried, there was no satellite signal for that either. We weren't prepared for this so be sure to reserve rafts, download books, look up restaurants, and tell your kids see ya when we get back before you come since you won't be able to do it at the cabin. The bed was comfortable, shower had great water pressure and hot water, numerical keypad lock was great. In comparison this has the prettiest location, but also the noisiest and least updated. Cabin is very basic, just like it states in the description. You are paying for the river proximity here. However if this cabin were updated, wow it would be a gem. Thanks for the nice stay Renee."

  • Everything I could have asked for and then some

"Where do I begin? There are so many things to tell and so much gratitude to share! First, the area of Nantahala River and the Gorge are unbelievable beautiful! Wayah Road is I think one of the most stunning drives that I have ever experienced. Literally at every turn in the road my breath was taken away and I was left in awe. The cabin, my home away from home was perfect. It was everything that I had dreamed it was going to be. It was cozy and comfortable, we did not need for anything during this stay. The view, was perfect in every way possible. How did I get so lucky to find this cabin?"
