  • The Best Rental Experience Ever!

"We were guests at the Robin's Nest October 6 &7 and had probably the best rental experience of our entire lives! That's saying a lot because we've traveled all over the world and there's always something amiss, a detail forgotten. The cabin was better than described, impeccably clean, and with so much attention to detail that we never had a "I wish we had this moment" our entire visit. It's also a charming and comfortable cabin with quality appliances, furniture, and fixtures, and a quaint history. In addition, it's well-located, an easy drive to downtown Asheville and immediate surroundings. The owners are responsive and attentive. I'd give this more than five stars if I could!"

  • Very nice place

"Everything was fine but I have to relate some tidbits that gave us laughs. First, there are notes everywhere in little plastic holders to tell you how to do everything. We figured anything odd or important would have a note. The note on the big doors to the deck say to open, hold up the handle and turned the lock knob counterclockwise. What is not on the instructions is after that to just turn the handle down to open like a normal door. It took us 20 minutes of holding the handle up and twisting the knob without avail to figure that out. Then there is the TV in a nice armoir. The doors swing open but they do not fold back. We sat there for the first evening having to stare down a tunnel made by these wide open protruding doors before my wife went over and found they slid back into the cabinet after you swing them open. Last were these really nice Adirondack style oak and leather covered chairs with real long arms behind the chair back. My wife was worried she would bump into the arms when she passed behind the chairs they stuck out so far and she couldn't figure out why they were so long. She likes a recliner to get her feet up when she watches TV but these chairs didn't have any buttons, knobs or levers so we assumed they were just normal uncomfortable Adirondack chairs with leather seats. On the last night I was joking about how it would be funny to discover that these chairs were really recliners after a few days of sitting up to watch TV and having to watch out for the rearward protruding arms. I half heartedly pushed back and the chair reclined. Turns out they are really high end Lazy boys. Was my face red. In my defense, some more notes would have helped."

  • Like home

"My husband, dog and I spent from mid-October through November at the Mint Cottage. We really enjoyed staying in a place that felt like home. We work remotely, so the house was a perfect size for us. We used the 2nd and 3rd rooms/ bedrooms as offices. We loved the backyard. Even though you are walking distance to downtown Asheville, the backyard makes you feel like you are far from town. The property backs up to a creek and a wooded area. We loved the location. You can walk to the grocery store (there are two!), the Asheville Yoga Center, High Five coffee, and a few restaurants (HomeGrown, Luella's BBQ). It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk to downtown and it is hilly. We loved this area so much that we moved into the house right next door! So, please feel free to say hello if you stay at the Mint Cottage! We are in the bright blue house :)"

  • Mountain Perfect!

"This was my fourth time staying in this townhouse. I wanted to write and express our thanks for being able to stay in this wonderful place! The mountain air was awesome!! The beds, couch, and over-sized chairs were so comfortable it felt like a second home. Actually the chairs were nicer than what I have in my home. We enjoyed the fire pit, looking at the stars, kayaking, and the "waterfall" hikes nearby. Mother nature is nice, but eating out at the "Brown Trout" restaurant, a mile down the road with their first class menu was akin to the "cherry on top!" Thanks! We will be back! Don't raise the rent!"
