  • 7th Year in a row and it gets better!!!!! Great for the soul

"I have now visited the blackberry 7 straight years and making plans for my 8th. Thank you David!!! The whole experience (view, cabin, fire pit and surroundings) make it extra special. I feel so recharged and ready to go after each visit. We usually come during the fall and will miss the glory of the leaf change, oh well always next year. I highly recommend anyone to stay here, its a once in a life time experience or in my case a 7th time."

  • Secluded cabin with amazing views!

"This cabin was perfect for us! It is secluded and has amazing mountain views! Everything was just as the owners described and the pictures are all up to date. What you see is what you get! The home is very well furnished, maintained, and clean. We would definitely rent this home again."

  • Lovely get away for family and friends

"Viking Mountain Lodge offers a welcoming cabin, lots of spaces to sit and visit, play games and enjoy a warm summer rain. The cozy bedrooms are ideal for mid day naps and restful nights. The open kitchen has everything you need to cook and entertain. The cabin and grounds are well taken care of and it's obvious that this is a special space for Alan and his family. If you visit, be sure to enjoy Alan's wonderful coffee table book that includes lots of history and practical information about the place and the area. The fire pit is ideal for SomeMores and the stream is a great place for wading. We enjoyed the open windows - ideal for sleeping and coffee on the porch. The instructions are most helpful and make checking out easy. If you are looking for a lovely get away that offers peace and quiet and a home that has "just what you need" Viking Mountain Lodge is ideal."

  • Peaceful & Perfect

"The drive up the mountain was a beautiful adventure & we had no problem with a 4wd pick up (per the clear directions). The cabin was clean and neat & decorated well. The kitchen had everything we could have possible needed. The bedroom was relaxing and the bed was cozy! We loved the rustic feel combined with the chandelier in the bathroom. The hot tub under the stars couldn't have been more romantic or soothing. It, also, was clean and in wonderful working order. The glider rocker on the porch was the perfect reading spot for quiet, fresh air, and wildlife. For those who reviewed previously & had trouble comprehending that one needs a 4wd to get up a mountain or understanding that in the wilderness there might be bugs, I think you may be suffering from 1st world problems. For those who couldn't manage to stay warm with their spouse during a romantic get away, you're doing it wrong! It was a great vacation and we hope to be back soon!"
