  • Wonderful place to start the new year with family!

"Love it! We had 8 adults and 5 children under the age of 7. The cabin was homey and not too many decorations laying around so we didn't have to worry about the children breaking things that needed to be replaced. Phew!!! The kitchen was fully stocked, with plenty of seating for family dinners. Each family had a bedroom to put their things and close their door for privacy, if needed. Loved the open floor living area and the view was very nice. We had the fireplace burning the whole time with just enough of fire wood. Most of all, we loved the privacy of this lot, the closeness to the dock and especially "all" the kayaks. The whole family participated in this exercise. FUNNY and full of Laughter! We had plenty of life jackets, too. The only thing I'd change would be the walkway to the dock. It came high off the bank of the lake then it turned side ways making it difficult to walk to the dock. We actually slipped off a couple of times. One day the children couldn't walk on it because it was too steep. Fortunately, it rained most of this day so we didn't have to worry about it. Since it was winter and the end of the year I'm sure Trey will do a deep cleaning inside and outside around the cabin getting ready for the summer time!!. Thank you Trey for sharing your dream (Trey's dream). We definitely staying again this summer! PS. Having no TV or internet and little cell service, didn't bother us at all."

  • Most wonderful home ever rented!

"My family and I rented this home for a four night fall break in October. We are from NC, but had never heard of Lake Jocassee. Just stumbled upon this home on a VRBO search when Hurricane Matthew prevented us from getting to the coast. My husband and four children (ages 9, 13, 15, and 16) had one of the most wonderful, memorable vacations we've ever had due to this immaculate, unique beautiful home and the incredible setting on the lake. We have rented many homes over the past ten years, and this was by far the nicest, cleanest, best one we've ever rented. The owners were fantastic -- very responsive and helpful and genuinely cared about our having a great experience. We spent our days on the lake. The boat made available to guests is spacious and powerful! Kids skiied, tubed and wakeboarded. It felt like we had our own private lake because there was almost no boat traffic (only about 30 houses on the entire lake), which is a plus when you're teaching young kids to ski. When we weren't enjoying water sports, we were hiking on/exploring the many waterfalls scattered throughout the lake. Finding them is like a treasure hunt, and was great fun for the kids. We spent our evenings enjoying dinners on the spacious porches, followed by family pool tournaments (pool table located in beautiful room overlooking lake)! We also spent lots of time hanging out in the adirondack chairs on the point (see pictures). In many houses we've rented, you feel like the owners are providing the bare minimun. This was the opposite of that. All beds were fabulous, sheets soft, bathrooms immaculately clean, kitchen well stocked, family room furniture so comfortable. You felt as if your close friends were allowing you to use their very special lake home. And with the massive, clean windows, you were enjoying the lake views at every moment. Only two negatives -- I would not want to arrive at night because the road leading to property is a long, gravel road and is fairly narrow and steep. So be sure to arrive before the sun sets! And secondly, if you like to have restaurants and a grocery store close by, this property won't work. It is a 30 minute drive to Cashiers where there is an Ingles and lots of restaurants. All that being said, once you're on this property, you'll never want to leave so just bring plenty of food with you! We're so grateful to the owners for sharing this home with us! It is one special place!"

  • Family Time

"Great House! My husband and I rented it with his brother and wife and with our children and grandchild, it made a group of 10. Everyone had their own space with all the bedrooms and baths in this house. We could all sit and eat together in the main level. Loved the concept of the two houses in one. Owner was wonderful to work with. He always replied to emails quick or you could reach him by phone anytime. You also get to bring your fur babies with you. We would definitely stay here again."

  • Fabulous place, fabulous things to see and do, fabulous vacation!

"I rented the house for 5 days - just me and my 2 border collies. Everything was perfect - the house, the location across the street from a private lake, the serenity of it all. My plan was to take the dogs hiking and swimming every day and we met that goal. The house is convenient to both DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. We ventured to Chimney Rock too, although that trip was a bit further. The city of Brevard was just a 15 minute drive and there were lots of great places to eat in town. I can't wait to come back and next time I'm dragging my friends with me! I have other friends who rented this house in the past and raved about it, and they were right!"
