  • Delightful Family Vacation Spot

"Thanks so much for providing us such a wonderful home to enjoy our mountain vacation this past week. It was very comfortable and was enjoyed by all. We loved doing the activities in the area, from hiking, sliding waterfalls, zip-lining, paddle boarding and kayaking on the lake. golfing and just chilling by the backyard stream. You have got a very special vacation home to enjoy all the seasons (although we do not know how you all manage those roads in the snow :-) ). Enjoy the the rest of your summer! Holly and Fletcher and the rest of our clan."

  • All that you would want and more!

"Our Family had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. Located in a beautiful piece of mountain paradise called Sapphire Valley. We selected the week between Christmas and New Year. Our Family had plenty to do in the home between board games, puzzles, TV, air hockey, etc. or simply enjoying our mornings by the fireplace and just talking and catching up. We most certainly took advantage of the beautiful mountains by taking hikes and enjoying the waterfalls. We also wrapped up the week with an exciting visit to the Biltmore House and it's beautiful Christmas decorations. What a wonderful week our Family of nine had in this beautiful home. Our spoiled Golden Doodle had a wonderful time as well and the house was very accomodating for our pet. I highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who is looking for a great getaway in first class accommodations!"

  • Best cabin in North Carolina

"I have rented cabins near Asheville, NC and Gatlinburg,TN. This cabin was by far the best. Amazing woodwork (wood taken from barn at Gettysburg), fireplace, outside deck, outside tub and kitchen. The private waterfall below is only accesible for anyone renting the cabin. There is also another great waterfall (Rock Creek Falls) on the preserve with a fireplace and chairs a short distance from the cabin. Very secluded and quiet. The view from the porch doesn't get old. Cable TV works, WIFI is excellent for such a remote setting. What can I say, the place is full of character. Also only a short drive away from Gorges State Park. Hike to Rainbow falls. Pictures do not do this place justice. See it in person. The cabin is located a short distance from Cashiers with grocery stores and restaurants. We didn't want to be away from the beautiful cabin too often, so we grilled out on the weber. Plenty of firewood for fires every night, with a little gas if you aren't great at starting fires :) We took our dogs and they had plenty of places to get off the leash on the preserve to enjoy the woods. Thanks for sharing your amazing cabin!. I highly recommend!"

  • Beautiful Mountain Home - 4th of July Summer Vacation

"My family of four recently stayed at High Whisper for one week during 4th of July along with another family of 5 who joined us for 3 nights from Raleigh ... just as the reviews had mentioned ...we were not disappointed. This was our second summer booking a home near Cashiers area ... last year, our town home at Trillium was beautiful but on the smaller side, so we were looking for something with a bit more elbow room and direct mountain views outside our back porch and windows. We decided to try Sapphire Valley this year and based on all the reviews I was drawn to High Whisper. Now, being a South Florida girl, I was particularly interested in soaking in a hot tub while relaxing under the stars and enjoying the crisp mountain air and views. High Whisper made this a reality for me! Firstly, as we arrived to the home for our 4th of July week celebration, we were met with a special delivery box at the door step from the owner Linda, and to our surprise, the box was filled with 2 American flags on sticks, a 'Freedom" decorative pillow and two red/white/blue kitchen hand towels. It was completely unexpected and so thoughtful...we were so impressed. Everything you've heard in the reviews is all true - the house has everything you would ever need for a vacation getaway ... kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could ever need, you just buy groceries. Beds are super comfy and each space is just perfect. We spent a lot of our time in the Kitchen and out back on the porch in the hot tub to be honest. For our kids (ages 8 and 6), the downstairs game room complete with pool table, air hockey and DVDs was a hit also. I think my kids watched Harry Potter 2-3 times that week. lol. In my opinion, there aren't enough pictures of the mountain views ... I was a little unsure what our views would be like, but they are beautiful especially from the backyard porch so no worries. Linda even provides an App for each renter to download prior to their trip and it literally answers every question you could ever have about the house and surrounding area. We didn't need to call the owner once during our trip! The only regret I have is that we were so busy river rafting the Nantahala, hiking and visiting local waterfalls/rivers, that we ran out of time to enjoy the nearby lake down the road and the canoe/kayaks that come with the rental. Next year for sure!! Can't thank Linda enough for her hospitality and kindness. You won't be disappointed!!!"
