  • Peaceful stay in the mountains

"We were looking for a place to stay with a view and that we could bring our dog to. This place was perfect and definitely exceeded our expectations! It's definitely private and secluded which we loved. The kitchen was fully stocked with absolutely everything you could need. The closets included extra pillows, games, and movies. In the backyard is a shed with plenty of chopped wood if you need a couple logs for the fire pit. There is also a large hammock to relax on. One of the best features of this house for us was the large front porch. It has a gate so that you can sit out there at night watching the sunset and not worry about your dog getting loose. Walking through a path off of the yard takes you immediately to the entrance of Panthertown Valley. I highly suggest printing off a trail map ahead of time. We spent time exploring different overlooks and Granny Burrell falls which is a must see. My daughter was the only brave one of the bunch to slide down the rock slide. Another day we drove about an hour and 15 minutes to Cherokee, NC to shop and have a nice dinner. For the photographers out there like me, this place did not disappoint. The view from the porch was beautiful but the trail had amazing views as well as wild flowers and creeks. This place is quant and definitely well maintained and it shows that the owners take good care of it. We definitely plan to return and without a doubt will stay in Cat's Eye again and explore more of the trails in Panthertown Valley. Thank you for a much needed peaceful retreat for our family!"

  • Wonderful cabin, kid friendly

"We stayed at this cabin with 7 families and among us we had 16 kids! :) Sounds crazy, but we had the best time! The cabin is beautiful, clean and large enough to where we all had our own space. The movie room was wonderful for kids. The rec center and activity field were also great! There is a very large playground that the kids loved and a large field that the husbands loved to play football on. Skiing and tubing were a short 5 min walk away. This cabin was truly one of the best experiences we've had. We cannot wait to return!! Danny was wonderful to work with as well, very prompt at responses and there if we needed anything. If you want a relaxing vacation, DEFINITELY GO HERE!!!"

  • First Timers

"Well worth the money. This was our first time vacationing in this area. While I would recommend coming during a busier time of year, this house was very comfortable and accommodating for our family of 3 young babies, my husband and I. The house is very spacious and the back room overlooking the mountain is beautiful. The property is very close to the Sapphire Mountain Valley resort where we spent a good amount of time. It was nice to "play" only 5 minutes up the street from where we were staying. Pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed."
