  • Charming, beautiful, secluded

"If you like to get close to nature and unplug, but you aren't the camping type, this is the perfect place for you. I would describe this as a luxury cabin. It was clean, well equipped, modern yet rustic, perfectly decorated and comfortable. There were 5 of us (my wife, 3 kids & me), and there was plenty of room. It's cozy. We're a close family, so we don't mind being close. If you're not, it might be a little tight. The caretaker, Bob, is fantastic! He will take care of you like family, checking in from time to time without being intrusive. We spent our mornings and evenings fishing, our afternoons boating, and hours each night out on the deck stargazing. It's a beautiful place to look for shooting stars! A couple of things to know before you go. 1 - it is very remote. Going out to eat is not convenient because you have to boat to a landing and drive at least 30 min to find anything. We never even attempted this because that wasn't the type of trip we were looking for. Bring some groceries with you and cook. They have everything you need, including a nice gas grill. 2 - Since it is a floating house, the toilet flushes to a holding tank. It is a full bathroom, clean and comfortable, but there can be an odor for a few minutes after flushing. If you're sensitive to smells, you might be disappointed. We just kept the bathroom door closed and it was only a minor nuisance. 3 - don't plan on being on your cell phone all day. We have Verizon, and the cell service was almost nonexistent. Text messages would sometimes be delayed hours, but we found a place by the door where they would go through quickly. If you need to stay plugged in, you'll need to figure that out before you go, but this is a location to get away and UNPLUG. Perfect in my opinion. The most important thing that I can say is that I will definitely stay here again!"

  • Great Getaway Cabin

"Immaculately clean and very well decorated mountain cabin. Tasteful accents include many themes on bears...and guess what...we saw one just down the road during our stay! Everything you need for a peaceful stay in the mountains. Good area for relaxing and hiking. Roy and Debbie were very welcoming and ready to be of assistance should you need anything or have questions."

  • Awesome little secuded in the hills!

"Our family stayed at this cabin this week. When we arrived, the cabin was clean. They provide everything you could possible need, fresh linens, fully stocked kitchen with newer appliances (including a dishwasher), and a mini fridge sink, microwave, and toaster in the downstairs master suite! The beds were VERY COMFORTABLE! They might have been the best beds we have ever slept in away from home! They provide bird food and corn for feeders located around the decks, and it was interesting watching the birds and squirrels in the morning! The cabin is high enough up the hill to feel very private, even though there are other cabins nearby. We could only see one, through the trees below us, and we couldn't see much, just a little light and the color of a car parked there. We brought our motorcycle to take a few rides while we were here. There is enough room to trailer in, as long as your trailer is small, and you can unhook and walk it around to turn around (there isn't quite enough room to turn it around at the cabin). Yes, the road up is steep, and perhaps a little scary the first time, but it's not horrible. I was a little worried about riding the bike down and up the road to the cabin, but my worries were unfounded. I think it was easier than driving the truck up. We only rode a few hundred miles through the mountains (our teenage kids were with us, so we didn't think it fair to leave them for long), but this is some beautiful riding! I can't imagine much prettier except for some of those bucket list place like the Pacific Coast Highway. We were looking for a place, away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but close enough to the Smoky Mountains National Park to make day trips. This location perfectly fit the bill. We took day trips into the park to Cades Cove, Clingmans Dome, and many other parts of the park. We grabbed meals in Townsend, Bryson City, and Cherokee, and was happy with each meal (check tripadvisor for the highest ranked places). We also prepared several meals in the cabin, especially breakfasts, but also used the provided grill to prepare steaks and burgers! If were return to the Smokies, we would definitely book this place again."

  • A lovely getaway!

"A quite secluded location near Lake Fontana and Deals Gap. The owner was quick to respond to my request for available dates and provided accurate directions to their lovely cabin. Would gladly stay here again when I come back to this area."
