  • Plenty of room for large family.

"We booked for 10 adults and 10 children. These Florida children have never seen snow so this was a tubing/snowboard trip for us. We ended up with 6 adults and 10 children. The living room was set up so that all of us could be in the same room comfortably. The leather sofa set is sleeper sofa on one side and recliner on the other with a nice oversized chair. The table behind the couch seats 6 comfortably and we had 3 children under comforters on the floor in front of the fireplace at all times. There was plenty of dining area and more then enough plates and utensils for all. Wish we had found the electric griddle in cabinet to the right of sink earlier. The master suite is huge! There are two separate master baths divided by a walk in closet. One side is garden tub, toilet and sink. Other side is shower, toilet and sink. Because of their size, we used these as the main baths for everyone. The other 2 main floor bedrooms were roomy beds were comfy and share the main floor bathroom in a hallway off the kitchen. Upstairs is Kid Heaven! There is a huge game room with foosball and air hockey and 3 sleeper sofas that divides the bedroom areas. One side is 2 bedrooms and the other is a bedroom and bath. There were plenty of games, books and other activities for them. Lots of comforters, blankets and linens. After we found the towels that were still in the dryer we realized we didn't have to share the 4 towels left in the bathrooms. The Donkey in the gated community was a big hit with everyone. The cons: The stairs and main upstairs play area are over the master suite bed and the hot tub is right outside the master suite french doors. My children insisted that we take the master suite since we paid for the trip and we found there was no quiet time for us. The grandchildren up and down the steps until they went to sleep and then their parents out at the fire pit or hot tub after they could relax until the wee hours. A TV in the Master suite would have been helpful to drown out the other noises. There is a dated Plasma TV in the living room and a small tube TV upstairs both have a DVD player but we could not get upstairs one to work. The driveway is steep, steep and you slide around even without snow. They did offer a level parking area at the other property they own nearby. Loved the mud room/laundry area but it really could use some hooks for all the jackets and better area for all the shoes and boots. Overall we were very comfy and had great time."

  • Perfect Mini Vacation

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I chose River's Edge as our home base for our getaway, and I am very happy that we did. As soon as we walked in, I was struck by how good the house smelled. Even the inside of the closet smelled good! The house was exactly as pictured. The location was perfect. The house was very centrally located as our plans were to go to the Great Smoky Mountains Park (and Cade's Cove)one day and ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway the next. Rain hindered our Blue Ridge plans, but we had a wonderful time just wandering through the shops in Maggie Valley. The only issue we had (and it was a minor thing) is that there is a well travelled road directly in front of the house that we didn't notice in the pictures. There was more traffic that we had anticipated."

  • Stunning view, quiet, great value

"We are staying here for two months while looking for a second home. The view is better than anticipated, especially at night. Very quiet area but yet so close to town. Well decorated and fully stocked with everything needed to be comfortable. Enjoyed the loft for afternoon reading in the sun and the mornings working in the office nook with a large desk and Wi Fi available throughout the home. Would even buy this home if it was available!"

  • Idyllic

"We had a wonderful stay at Willow Cottage. The home is beautiful, the decor is lovely, the setting is perfect. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to come back. It is quiet and pastoral but with all the amenities you could need. The town of Waynesville is only a fifteen or twenty minute drive with a nice grocery and lots more. We were there with our adult children but it would be a great place with little ones. There's plenty of room to run and roam, the river is right there to enjoy and you can hike on the property. The game pavilion is nice and there's a fire pit just above the river nearby. We very much enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on the back porch. We loved the kitchen and spent much of our time there cooking and baking while making our own little beverage bar. The house was decorated tastefully for Christmas with a live tree and greenery here and there. It was one of our favorite times away. We were sort of "sklpping" Christmas so this was just the place. We got to enjoy the decorations without putting them up or taking them down! Next time we will go early, before our kids arrive, and stay after they leave."
