  • A perfect choice for a vacation home

"I am spending our last week here at Pine Creek Lodge. This has been the most amazing month here. I just love this house. The photos do not capture the design, the furnishings, the setting. From the main deck, one can hear the creek. It is so restful. The house is very clean and filled with light. The windows are expansive- with spectacular views of the trees. The decks overlook Lake Glenville. The summer temperature here is cool and refreshing because of the elevation. A nice contrast from our Florida home. Our dog absolutely enjoyed running free around the house, down the hill, into the creek, etc. The common park area where residents can put in kayaks is the most peaceful spot. It takes 15 minutes to walk there. Great workout. We had the use of two kayaks (and a canoe which we did not use). We rarely saw another resident there in all the time we were here. For the first week our toddler granddaughter came too, and especially liked the park, hunting for rocks, making sand castles. There was a swing set too with rings, which she loved. Randy, our host, offered us the use of two bird feeders, the source of lots of entertainment. He couldn't have been nicer, always available. The house had everything we needed. We didn't use the incredible game room downstairs, but I could see that this would be a great house for families with teens. We brought 2 baby gates, as there are stairs. Alone for the last two weeks, we hiked many of the trails in this area, such as: Whiteside Mountain, Ranger Falls at Cliffside Lake, Gorges State Park, Satulah Mountain, Botanical Gardens, the Arboretorium, and all those waterfalls. Bob and I were very impressed with what the area has to offer. It takes us 18 minutes to drive to Cashiers. There was a concert on the green there every Friday. The Bascom Art Center in Highlands was first rate. We rented a pontoon boat twice from Signal Ridge Marina. Breakfast at the Zookeeper Bistro was delicious. The folks at both places were very friendly. I did a trail ride yesterday at Arrowmont Stables, close by. For two hours I rode through the woods, and up in elevation. The views were spectacular. Jonathan and Chase were great! One can visit their new petting farm, a non profit part of Arrowmont, where there are goats, bunnies, kittens and lambs. They now have piglets! A big hit for little ones. I would like to book this home again."

  • Everything you could possibly want or need!!

"We just returned from a delightful, restful 4 nights at Pine Tops. First of all, the cabin is adorable--it truly exudes charm, comfort, and love. You can't help but feel "at home". It was the most well equipped cabin we've ever stayed in, even including baskets of toilet paper and soap so we didn't have to run out and buy a bunch of supplies, which we appreciated arriving as late as we did. The cabin is in an incredible setting that pictures cannot do justice--you literally feel like you are in a fairy treehouse. Every direction you look out, all you see are trees and rhododendron. There is plenty of seating in the large living room , lovely deck, huge screened in porch, with dining areas in both large living spaces. The bedrooms include plenty of hooks and drawer space and the bedding is gorgeous. The art creates a welcoming environment. All 3 bathrooms are well equipped with plenty of supplies, towels, drawers and hooks. The decorations don't come across as clutter but contribute to telling the "story" of the owner and cabin, which you will very much appreciate. We are middle aged grownups but decided we wished the owner would adopt us!! There are numerous darling touches, such as a tiny little table for children, with accompanying small wooden chairs in red, green, and yellow. Plenty of candles and matches in case the power goes out which it never did--but still, just one more indication that the owner has literally thought of everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed the coffee table books and interesting reading material scattered throughout the home. Another aspect we enjoyed and which helped make the home so enjoyable and relaxing was little touches like always having appropriate lamps in each spot, and no matter where one is sitting, there's a nearby table or stool on which to rest your book and cup of coffee. There seemed to be a bunch of TVs, which we never watched, but we did enjoy listening to music on the stereo. I'm a hotnatured person and was concerned about the lack of central air in humid August, but it was not a problem. The air is cool and circulates well with all the screened doors; and if needed, you can turn on all 3 bathroom a/c units and let them run which does cool things off. Location so quiet, yet, just minutes from town! Last, the high quality and precious nature of many of the items in the cabin indicated a respect for the guests--a desire to share lovely things to evoke delight."

  • A perfect summer vacation

"We couldn't have asked for a more perfect cabin to relax. The view, the cabin and all the amendities ( kayak and pontoon boat) filled our week with lovely adventures. Morning kayak trips to falls and trails then just chillaxing with morning coffee and evening barbecues was a hit for adults and teenagers. I would love to come back here with more friends"

  • The Best Rental Experience Ever!

"We were guests at the Robin's Nest October 6 &7 and had probably the best rental experience of our entire lives! That's saying a lot because we've traveled all over the world and there's always something amiss, a detail forgotten. The cabin was better than described, impeccably clean, and with so much attention to detail that we never had a "I wish we had this moment" our entire visit. It's also a charming and comfortable cabin with quality appliances, furniture, and fixtures, and a quaint history. In addition, it's well-located, an easy drive to downtown Asheville and immediate surroundings. The owners are responsive and attentive. I'd give this more than five stars if I could!"
