  • Even better the second time around

"We have just concluded our second visit to Asheville and our second stay at this property. We loved it even more the second time. The house is in a great neighborhood with friendly neighbors, amazing location and everything you could possibly want in a home away from home. It offers everything you could possibly want. Mike is quick to respond to communications, too! The "perfect" description is definitely true. Thank you, Mike, for helping make this vacation so great!"

  • Very nice - family enjoyed it.

"The house and property were as described in the ad. House is cozy and comfortable with a large collection of interesting books. There was a large yard area that my kids (12, 11 and 8) enjoyed playing in and interacting with the herd of cows on the other side of the fence. Upstairs sleeping areas very good for kids. Felt the price was reasonable. Only real downside is that you are not in a "mountain" area - think more rolling farmland. However we knew that going in. Though there might be more places to explore on the property given its size but that was not a big deal - we would rather hike mountain trails. Owners very easy to work with and have several laminated info sheets that were useful."

  • Lake Nantahala is great

"Our family has six adults and seven kids. Finding a place to put us all in a bed is hard. My wife found this home a few years back and it is always perfect. It came with a pontoon boat and we rented two jet skies from them too. Our whole family agrees this was the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. Some of us have been here before. We cooked out every night on the grill and had bonfires until late in the fire pit. The weather was great. I would guess the lake was about 80 degrees which is much warmer than we expected because it is over 3000 foot of elevation. Then views from the home are unbelievable. We recommend this to any family looking for a peaceful, fun vacation. We also went whitewater rafting one day. It was about 20 minutes from the house. Owners are great and their caretaker Stan is the man. We got a rope caught in the jet ski (our fault) and he was there in about two hours, pulled the jet ski to the ramp and fixed it. He had it back to us in three hours. That is service. We fished a few times and caught a smallmouth bass and a bunch of brim. We seen some huge trout but they would not bite. Stan said fishing is best before June and after August. We will be back next summer. We booked the week we left. Two years ago we waited too long and ended up not getting a lake house. Stan said book early all the good houses on the lake are gone by October for the following summer. The only thing we would change is adding a couple more chairs or a table in the basement. We played pool every night and needed a couple more seats or bar stools."
