  • Escape the summer heat!!!

"We loved our time at Casa Suenos! So private yet close to town...fully stocked with a beautiful wooded view from the decks and hot tub. Furnishings were lovely and the cool porch was a great relief from our hometown summer heat. We loved the hikes nearby and the Botanical Garden in HIGHLANDS...LOTS of restaurant choices. Great for any type of getaway! We have told our friends and they are booking as well...Thank you for sharing your space, Karl ! A and D, Athens, Ga"

  • Pretty view from the porch

"We had a great time. Only issue was the gas station on the lake was closed on the day we went out on the lake which was different from day we were told. Not the owners fault. Just had to cut the boat trip short. If you rent check hours first so you don't wait till last day like we did."

  • Peaceful, Enchanting Vacation

"In an area of the country rife with log cabins that all look the same, this cottage was a breath of fresh air. Tucked just up a little mountain road in Highlands, it was even better than the photos. The quirky little place was impeccably clean, well-stocked and well-maintained. And June is great to work with—very accommodating and responsive. But the biggest draw of the cottage is the way the light plays throughout the rooms. Sunlight gently spills into the master bedroom in the morning. Warm up in the afternoon dappled sunlight of the music room. We had a wonderful time here, filled with fires, coffee, books and music. We enjoyed the cozy, private feel even though the property is on a street with other houses. The area is beautiful, and the home is convenient to everything. We also made friends with the squirrel on the back deck and the albino chipmunk who lives somewhere out front. Head into town for local coffee at Buck's or Mountain Fresh Grocery. We also loved some of the out-of-the-way places like Fressers Eatery. The last night we were there, we hiked up to Sunset Rock, which is definitely worth the view. Can't wait to come back here."

  • Very peaceful

"Just wanted to thank you for a great week at the lake. We enjoyed the house and the lake. Our 10 yr old lab LOVED swimming and "fishing" in the lake. He has not been able to do that since we moved to SC since there are alligators in all of our lagoons. My husband enjoyed fishing, but didn't catch anything. According to him there is not enough "structure", but it was still relaxing and enjoyable for him. We were thrilled with all of the things that came with the house...extra linens, pillows, blankets, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, dish soap, shampoo, and hand soap. We have stayed in several VRBO homes and had to go to the grocery store the 1st day to get some of those things. That was VERY nice and we appreciate it. The kitchen is awesome. We made some meals there and brought some in, but there wasn't one thing we needed that we couldn't find. The outside area is wonderful. What a gorgeous view and the chairs on the dock, in the yard and on the porch are great. We did not canoe, but how nice to have it available for us. Also, it is great that you guys are so dog friendly. We like to travel with our dogs but it is difficult to find places that work out as well as yours (both inside and outside). Lastly, I want to thank you for being so responsive when we were working to set this up, and texting once we got there. You are very easy to work with and returned our damage deposit immediately. We didn't do much in the town but did go to Crowder Mountain one day. We hiked around with the dogs. The paths are very well maintained and the park is very beautiful and peaceful. We had dinner at Chens. Very good Chinese. We were not impressed with Alston Bridges BBQ, the ribs were chewy and they do not serve alcohol. The wings place (Wings, Etc) is a good place to catch a game, a beer and a burger. All in all, we had a great week."
