  • the most beautiful beach

"The beach in front of our house was spectacular and the house itself was clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful in prepping us for our trip with some great tips on where to eat, etc. The layout of Hatteras Jack is warm and friendly and perfect for a large group, we had 13 people, ages 4-70 and everyone had something to do. the stretch of beach in front of the house goes on forever in both directions. In one direction is the Rodanthe Pier and in the other direction is a really cool shipwreck only a short distance off shore. The water this time of year (mid-September) was still very warm and we loved just hanging out on the beach all day."

  • Great condo. Great view. Good Value. Perfect location.

"Having traveled and lived on Beech Mountain over the past 30 years, I know the mountain pretty well. But I didn't know where to rent a nice place for a few days around Thanksgiving. Well, we found this condo at VRBO and decided to take a chance. It was lovely. Quaint, charming, well appointed, cozy...... I could go on. We loved waking up on a frosty morning, making a hot coffee and sitting by the gas fireplace. Also, the view was great and it's close to everything (slopes, restaurants, Fred's, Buckeye Lake Rec Center, etc.). ONLY negative was the very limited TV channels available (basic cable) and that was a bummer. Overall, though, delightful condo at a good value and a great locale. We'd do it again without hesitation."

  • Wonderful, Memorable Beach Vacation!

"We arrived at the Pelican Palace and were pleased from the first view! It is charming on the outside and beautifully clean and decorated on the inside. We found everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals (the dishwasher was even bigger than ours at home!) and a very organized pantry with laundry and extras. The views were absolutely to-die-for and we enjoyed being so close to the beach that our kids could run in and out and we could see and hear them. It was fun going to eat at Max's Pizza, Island Delight, & the Fractured Prune for hot, fresh donuts in the mornings. Our photographer daughter got some breath-taking shots of sunsets over the sound (within walking distance), too! There were little touches like great books to read (including children's books in the kid's rooms), a kayak!, boogie boards, sand toys, puzzles and games too. Everyone in our family - from the adults to all kids (ages 18, 16, 12, 9 & 7) enjoyed the trip and the house immensely! Thanks so much for letting us stay in your little piece of paradise :)"

  • Terrific property, great location

"This apartment has everything we wanted. It's pet-friendly, handicapped accessible, affordable, spacious, very well-equipped, has wi-fi and cable TV and washer/dryer. In addition, it is clean and well-maintained, tastefully furnished, has central air, has a comfortable patio seating area. It is very close to the beach, and also to shopping and restaurants. Linens are provided, including kitchen towels and beach towels .Floors are brick, wood, tile, with carpet in the bedrooms. The owners also have beach chairs and toys available for your use. There is plenty of off-street parking and green space. It is located on a quiet street, not on a thoroughfare. Christine and Mitchell, the owners, respond quickly and are friendly, but respect your privacy. I would definitely go here again and recommend it to friends."
