  • Awesome stay at Country Haven

"Everything was perfect. The wrap around porch gives great views of the surrounding mountains, and the buffalo next door were a huge plus. The cabin is roomy enough for a larger group, and everything was there that we needed. A great stay."

  • Exceeded expectations

"First of let me say that the pictures don't do the house justice. I was so impressed by the feel of newness - like barely anyone stayed there. Hats off to the caretaker - doing an awesome job!! The space including the bathrooms and garage are big :) Beds are comfortable. The place is decorated with care and one really needs to look around to discover all the little fun things. I spotted something different every day. The location is on an average 30 mins to an hour to various destinations. Highly recommend it!!"

  • Cozy Cabin in the Woods Near River

"Our family stayed in this cabin for 3 nights in July. It is located in a beautiful private area with very easy access and a scenic drive along French Broad river. Surrounded by woods there is no shortage of trails to hike. Our young children enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, climbing, building a fire and swimming in a nearby creek. The historic town of Hot Springs is only a few minutes away, with places to get a hearty meal, coffee or ice cream. The historic downtown Marshall is another gem worth driving 20 minutes for. We also enjoyed a very scenic drive on HWY 25/70 to Del Rio, TN to Strange Honey Farm. No tours are allowed but you can buy local mountain honey and handmade honey products at wholesale prices. The cabin was clean, very functional and well stocked. Our family enjoyed spending time together cooking and reading. The owners had a wonderful selection of music CDs and kids had fun dancing around. A screened balcony was the perfect place to enjoy meals as a family. Overall, it was a beautiful, very relaxing and peaceful place. We fell in love with the area and plan on coming back."

  • A Cycling Paradise!

"Last month a group of us stayed at Caty’s cabin and had an absolutely great time. The cabin…which does it no justice in calling it that, was absolutely fantastic. We used the cabin as our base camp for a cycling vacation. Right from our doorstep we had some of the best cycling roads in the area. Bear Creek Road up to Marshall is a great ride with plenty of options along the French Broad River. We did elect to begin several of our rides in Asheville (around a 20 minute drive) as we found this more convenient to access the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mount Mitchell not to mention that after the ride we could visit the numerous Asheville restaurants, breweries….and more breweries! Our ride from Asheville to the top of Mt Mitchell was a 95 mile ride with almost 11,000 feet of climbing. To some this may not mean much, but to cyclists it’s something that stories are made of. Most nights back at the cabin were spent sitting on one of the beautiful porches and planning out our next cycling adventure. I can’t say enough about this place and we have already made plans on visiting again. Thanks Caty!"
