  • 4th year family vacation

"Had our 4th family vacation at this wonderful property in August. Each year/time has been better than the previous. The property has everything a family could ask for. Young, old, active, sedate; there is something for everyone. As I posted in previous reviews, the owner is a gracious host and is considerate of the renters privacy and needs. We had a strong storm knock a pole and power line down not too far from the house. If we hadn't gone outside and heard the generator running, we would never have known the power was out. It took most of the day for the power company to make repairs, but we were not inconvenienced in the least. We have looked, but have not found a rental property in the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana area that compares with this for amenities and price."

  • Perfect

"Perfect! Owner was quite thoughtful in providing everything we needed down to the complimentary basket in the frig. The Owner was very gracious and flexible when we had to change the date. In spite of the early March cold, we packed a picnic lunch and took a Covered Bridge Road Trip."

  • Nice, clean home with great neighborhood beach

"We really enjoyed staying at this property. Laura was great at communication and responding to texts quickly. The house was very clean and comfortable to be in. We loved that there were two big couches in the living room so our whole family could sit comfortably. We also loved that there is a beach about a block and a half away from the home. It is just for residents of this neighborhood so it was not busy or crowded. We really enjoyed being able to walk there. It was a great stay at a great price. Thanks for helping us enjoy this leg of our vacation."

  • Loved it!

"We stayed here last week and had a great time. The kids loved the beach and swimming in the pond. I was impressed with how clean the water was and that is was warm enough for swimming. Fishing off the dock was fun if you like catching little bluegill. My son in law did catch a couple of small bass on the far end. We enjoyed floating on a large raft we brought. We brought our own fishing poles and life jackets for the kids but it was nice to see some were at the house as well. The yard is spacious and secluded. You do have to travel a dirt road to reach the house which we didn't realize and my husband had brought his motorcycle. It stayed parked until we left. Lots of parking by the way which was nice as each of my kids drove their own car. Some places limit how many cars you can have and I was happy this wasn't an issue here. It took a little traveling to reach attractions we wanted to see and do but for me it was worth it to have the seclusion. We had a nice campfire in the evenings and could sit around and relax. The deck and hot tub were a big hit as well. Several of us got splinters from the decking boards . Make sure you wear shoes. The house itself was unique. I liked the openness of it. Sound does carry so some of us early birds could hear the night owls and visa versa. It has central air and while the downstairs stayed cool those in the loft got a little warm. Thank goodness for ceiling fans however there isn't one directly over the one loft bed. Perhaps a pedestal fan up there might help. Little things like chipped dishes, games missing pieces and general clutter in some of the drawers reminds you it is a rental. We could find just about anything we needed in the kitchen although somewhat mismatched. It could really use a new skillet and griddle. I hate using teflon peeling cookware. It has a regular coffee pot and a Keuric coffee maker. Some the plastic chairs around the fire ring were brittle and broken probably from being the sun too long. They should be checked and replaced as needed but there were enough good ones we were fine. I would of liked another couch or two for sitting around the TV or fireplace. A recliner would be nice for the old guy who paid for the rental. He also said he couldn't figure out how to get the sound bar on the TV to work when he watched the NBA finals. All in all, the outdoors and the pond made this a special place and I hope to come again sometime."
