  • Great home for a great vacation. So clean and great location

"We had 9 people staying for the week and there was more than enough room for all of us. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need. We even used the crock pot to have dinner ready when we got home from our day adventuring. So close to the highway for access to Sandusky, Toledo, Cleveland. Gregg and Carol were so great to work with and responded to questions within hours. The bikes were great. Private beach was relaxing. Old Homestead area was quaint and fun to walk or bike around. A few restaurants in the area were very good. There is a little grocery store around the corner but since we had 9 people and a lot of shopping for the week we went to super walmart which wasn't far. We played board games and cards-supplied in the house. Wifi was nice to have with 2 tweens .We were able to find local places to rent wave runners which was so nice out on the lake. There are only 2 reasons I didn't give this house 5 stars and may not be important to others. 1- there were only 12 channels on the tv. with a 2 year old and tweens they were wanting more on the rainy day. 2- the grill is charcoal which I don't like working with. this is mentioned in the description so I knew but gave it a try which didn't go so well for me. Don't hesitate to book this house. It is great"

  • Tranquil lakeside getaway

"My family and I LOVED staying at this cozy and comfortable cottage. At the top of our list was the view of the lake, just steps away from the cottage, complete with lapping waves hitting the break wall. Every day we sat on the spacious deck and watched the lake, or sat atop the break wall to view it up close. And it was so soothing to hear the waves at night. A children's park and beach is also a few feet away, which was a convenient location from which we could kayak. We enjoyed the family-friendly and private community in which the cottage is located; everyone quickly became neighbors. The cottage is minutes away from Cedar Point; but there are other attractions worth visiting, such as Thomas Edison's childhood home in Milan, Put-in-Bay Island with Perry's Monument, and the Sheldon Marsh Nature Preserve (one of the remaining wetland areas in the state). The host, Dave, has equipped the cottage with everything necessary for a relaxing "home-away-from-home" vacation, including a fire pit for nighttime campfires. We thank Dave for his friendly and generous hospitality, his recreation and restaurant recommendations, and for welcoming our furry family member (dog) on our vacation!"

  • Great Week!

"My family had a wonderful week in the " yellow house". Close to the beach, shopping, marina and many fun activities for the children. Mitiwanga is a nice neighborhood, with many friendly people. The house has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. A big plus for all of us was the comfortable beds. I our experience it is a first. Thank you Jennifer! Hope to be back next year."

  • Felt like going home

"We stayed at this charming home 5 years ago with our friends and 6 kids aged 8-13 at the time. We had an amazing time and were thrilled when it was available for our return trip. The kids are now much bigger and older, but we all had a great time. They still loved swimming in the (cold!) lake and climbing the tree. Cedar Point is a short drive away and always on our to do list. Carol and George are wonderful people and make you feel right at home, without being intrusive. The cottage is well equipped with everything you might need. Although there is no air conditioning, there is plenty of ventilation and we were all very comfortable. I would highly recommend this cottage and we hope to come back again!"
