  • 5 STARS: Excellent and great location!

"We lived in Bozeman for 7 years....then sold our house to move East. We came back for a visit to see our MSU daughter. This house is wonderful. It's a whole floor on the lower level. 1 bath....but, that's just fine, because you have 2 bedrooms, a large kitchen, formal dining room and large living room. Plenty of room to have friends over for dinner. Perfect location, literally 2 blocks from Main Street. Really wonderful.....we will be back. She even let us have our dog stay. You get to go back in time too.....with all the woodwork and furnishings. 5 stars!!!"

  • Nice place to stay

"We enjoyed our stay at the Grisham condo in the "low-lander" section of Avalon. If you can do stairs, this is the place to stay. On the ground level is the living room and a bath with shower. Up a flight of stairs is the 2nd bedroom with a bath without a shower and the kitchen. Up a flight of stairs is the lovely master bedroom and bath suite. It has double sinks and a roomy shower (jacuzzi tub cannot be used during the drought). The home has been recently renovated and has hard wood floors, tile and nice new furniture. We ate 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner here. The owner supplies paper goods, since the dishwasher is also not allowed to be used during the drought. The toilet in the master bath cycles on and off constantly, but if you close the door, it's not too annoying. It is only a short walk from "town." It is on a busy corner with lots of golf carts putt-putting by. We saw deer from our windows, as they come down for water. The house does not have AC, but has lots of fans. We opened the doors & windows for fresh cool air, which was lovely!"

  • Fantastic place despite some issues

"When we walked in, first impression was wow, very nice house. We went in further and opened the blinds to see double sliding porch doors looking over the pool and out to the ocean...incredible sunrises were enjoyed with our morning coffee from there. The master bed room with jacuzzi tub was also great. Location also worked out for us, about halfway between all the activities we had planned. Over all, the house was terrific.... however, here were some issues we had. There was some electrical work being done at the property and we had no power for part of a day ( I understand upgrades need done, but don't like it when I'm paying to be staying). Also had some cleaning issues when we arrived, sand on the couch, sand in the hot tub(he had to drain and refill. We only used 1 time and it had some sand in it again, but we had not even been around the beach yet. May have been a filter issue?) a film in the bathtub where it had not been cleaned etc. I got in touch pretty quickly with the local contact and she was very apologetic and had someone there in less than an hour. He worked real hard getting things in shape for us and while I'm sure we wasn't happy having to come out and fix someone else's poor work, we couldn't notice as he was also very apologetic and very hospitable. Finally, I know you can't control the damn chickens crowing, but you CAN control the fountain that is right next to the bedroom window. It was not on at all when we arrived, but the day the electrical work was done it was running all night long. My wife went and slept in another bedroom. I'm sure a timer needed reset someplace. Despite what may look to be complaints, I feel they are pretty minor. My wife and I had a wonderful time on Kauai and at Moana Kai. We would 100% definitely stay here again, and hopefully will be able too.."

  • An Absolute Fabulous Vacation Destination in Eastport, Maine

"Our family just came back from Eastport and were so fortunate to be able to stay in Jayne and Alan's fabulous home. Their home is so inviting and comfortable. Jayne has thought of everything possible to make your vacation a wonderful experience! The view from the deck is gorgeous and I took many beautiful pictures of sunrises. It was fun to walk along the shore and pick up seashells. It is such a quiet area. The little town of Eastport is very quaint and the locals in town are just the most friendly and helpful people you could ever meet! The restaurants are also very wonderful in Eastport. We went on the Windjammers whale watching tour and the family members that run the tour were so nice and informative. I would totally recommend going on a tour with them. If you are looking for a wonderful Maine experience, I would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful ocean front cottage."
