  • The Best Property We've Ever Rented

"We’ve rented approx. 20 different houses on the Oregon Coast over the past 10+ years. All range from $300 to $750/nt. Most are good or great. But this house was better than anything we’ve ever rented, for many reasons, which I’ll briefly enumerate: 1) New construction, with true attention to decor detail. From vaulted ceilings everywhere, to massive hardwood doors, to designer hardwood cabinets, to Viking professional appliances, to the amazing stone countertops, to the rough sawn hardwood floors, to the massive desk in perfect condition, to a heated toilet seat :-) 2) Amenities. Most places stock, but this place REALLY stocks – from spices to cookware to toiletries to gourmet coffee to name-brand laundry soaps and detergents to firewood to smore ingredients and wine. It sounds small, but we don’t ever see all these fine details in other houses. 3) Clean. The house was spotless when we arrived. Everything was in perfect working order. 4) Beautiful. From the custom tile kitchen backsplash to VERY detailed custom lighting within the home to the immaculate, huge steam shower to the huge picture windows. 5) Surroundings. This section of South Beach is easy to access (by car or foot), is very private, with almost nobody around, miles of deep sand beaches, safe waters, amazingly picturesque. It’s one of the most beautiful stretches of beach we’ve seen on the Oregon coast. 6) Hospitality. Larry and Patti (and Crissa) couldn’t be nicer or more-helpful. They even allowed us to arrive early and leave late, because the days immediately before and after our booking were open. This was THE BEST – because arrival and moving days are always short and rushed. This made moving days totally relaxed, for a nice change we’ve never experienced before. We were very sad to leave this amazing house. We know our next house on this trip can’t compare. Everybody writes they’ll be back to rent again (we almost never say that). We will be back to rent this property again. We love it. We love it. We love it. Thank You for sharing your amazing home."

  • Good, but could use some improvements

"The location of the townhouse was outstanding and the unit was as pictured on the website. It was very clean and comfortable and for the most part very well stocked, but there were a few issues that could be addressed to make it even better. We stayed during a rainy week in early October (avg temps around 60) while we were fishing daily in the Yaquina for salmon. We found the unit to be overly warm (especially upstairs), even without turning on any heat. We would have liked to have been able to open the windows and/or sliding doors to cool the place off, but most were missing their screens and we did not want bugs inside. There were no fans (ceiling or free-standing) to help with the cooling. We could not imagine what it would have been like in much warmer weather. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils, cookware, paper towels, napkins, and appliances. Pretty much everything someone would need to prepare all of their own meals. Since we were in Newport to fish, we were not in the unit for most of the day. Even with this, there was a shortage of toilet paper, which required us to purchase some during our stay. Since we booked the place for 7 nights, I expected it to be fully stocked for our stay and was surprised that we ran out so soon given our limited time in the unit. Also, given the size of the unit and the fact that there were 2 large bedrooms, we would have liked for there to have been more than 1 TV. Perhaps putting one in each of the bedrooms. Since the only TV is in the main living room, if someone wants to watch TV and others do not, there is no option other than to try to share the space. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider this townhouse again, but we will come more prepared next time."

  • A great getaway

"We have stayed at this location for 3 years in a row now. We are so pleased with it every time. The place is always very clean and very well stocked with everything we need. The location is perfect! Downtown Newport is just across the bridge and plenty of places to go for a walk or just sit inside and enjoy the wonderful view of the bridge and the bay. The owners are very easy to deal with and we have never had any trouble with anything. Very smooth transaction. We would recommend this place and we will be back for a 4th time."
