  • Off the grid

"Very quiet, except for the constant roll of waves on the seashore visible from the second floor. Clean and nice. We never could get our computers to connect to the wifi, and our smartphones only connected consistently on the second floor. If you're trying to stay connected to the outside world, this may not be the best place to go. Nice though if you're looking for something kind of off the grid. Also not the best place if you're a grill master as the grill is charcoal only and very small. Otherwise, we had a great time playing the many board games available, eating Tillamook ice cream and local fudge, and walking around the large, near private beach."

  • Wonderful family vacation!

"The ViewMaster was exactly as described: easy beach access, lots of balconies for those of us who chose to sit and enjoy the view, spacious rooms, and very clean! The game room (converted from garage) and the hot tub were hits with kids and adults!"

  • Home Sweet Home (but better!)

"This was our second stay at this house (stayed last summer as well) and won't be our last. This house truly feels like home, but on the ocean! They have pretty much everything you need (well, I did have to stop and get a few serving utensils, and some bigger coffee cups). Wonderful views, no road noise, great location between Lincoln City and Newport. Close enough to stores and outlets, but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of regular life. Just kick back in this comfy house and enjoy the views. I still think that it would be much nicer to be able to have a breeze in the bedrooms, and still waiting for the deck to be built on the other side near the master bedroom. That would make it SO much nicer! Love me the sound of the ocean waves! Thanks again Gail and Paul for the nice stay...we'll be back! P.S...be careful on the trail to the ocean behind the gate to the south of the property...my sister said there was a lot of poison ivy or oak there! (can't remember which she said)"

  • return felt like home

"I have stayed at Windside for many years but had not been back since 2009. I brought my cousin and her husband because they have never been to Oregon before. We only stayed three nights and it was like coming home to an ol' friend. I also have had an opportunity to become acquainted with the owner and had communicated with him prior to my arrival. A beautiful location with privacy. I have only seen the people in the home next door once in many years. The cottage is roomy and the view is beautiful and the direct access to the beach makes it great for beachcombers. The beach has never been crowded as a matter of fact, I have never seen more than two or three people. Quick access to Newport or to Yachats or Waldport and of course to Newport Bay area. I am coming back in Oct for a week. Have been here in winter and some beautiful storms. Have been here in spring and beautiful flowers and weather and sunsets. You can't go wrong at the Windside and the rate is reasonable."
